"I _can_ make the hills"?
Don't shoot the messenger;-). I know it's a typo error and a stupid one but it doesn't make the storylines with each song any less interesting!
No inconveniencing the messenger planned!

Re: "Thanks for the dance" - the new album

"The Hills"... Is he actually singing "and this is the hook" instead of "and this is the book"? - This is hilarious!

You're welcome, Wendy.
I hope I didn't produce too much of a cock-up trying to translate this superb romance.
I didn't realise this was your translation. Well done!

Re: "Thanks for the dance" - the new album

Let's not forget these early (and quite amazing) versions of the songs "The Hills" and "Puppets".
Apparently they were played during an interview with KCRW radio in 2006.

Re: "Thanks for the dance" - the new album

I couldn't wait for Friday and “The Night of Santiago”, so I listened to Leonard's recitation of the poem “The Faithless Wife” from the audio "Book of Longing” and played some flamenco music in the background. And, well, it kind of worked. --------- Photo dancer: Iatya Prunkova Photo flamingo: Carol...

Re: "Thanks for the dance" - the new album

I just realised the song number five on the new album is called "It's Torn" and not, as I thought, "It's Tom".
This is not a joke. I was really curious who this Tom person is, and was looking forward to finding it out on Friday.

Some resources on “The Night of Santiago”

So ..., “The Night of Santiago”, one of the songs on Leonard's new album “Thanks for the Dance”. The song – like “Take This Waltz” – is based on a Spanish language poem by Federico García Lorca. I've put together some resources about the poem and its translations, for anyone that is interested. The ...

I hope it will not be a post-humorous album.

Only four more days to go! - I hope it will not be a post-humorous album. But lines like "I care, but very little" and "The neighbour returns my smile of defeat" reassure me.

Arthur Miller's and Dustin Hoffman's "Death of a Ladies’ Man"

November 13, 1977: Arthur Miller's and Dustin Hoffman's album "Death of a Ladies’ Man" is released - to the consternation of fans and critics alike who can't deal with the combination of Hoffman's raw performance and Miller's perfectionist Wall of Text technique.
