Re: Felicity Buirski New Album: "Committed to the Fire"

It's great to see that this thread has had more than two thousand viewings. Have any readers bought the album? If so, I'd be interested to know what you think of it, and/or which are your favourite tracks.

Re: Scott Walker RIP

It's so sad to hear that Scott has died. I first saw him performing with the Walker Brothers in 1966 and saw him singing solo twice in 1968. I have multiple copies of his first four great solo albums. Here's a Scott song from 1969 that has some of the same qualities as Leonard's "Sisters of Mercy": ...

Re: Felicity Buirski New Album: "Committed to the Fire"

I've heard that there's a slight delay with the CD release of Felicity's CD, due to corrections in the art work. Hopefully IT will be available in earlier part of this month (February 2019).

Re: that's that. i'm off

Hi Weilin,

If you enlarge Geoffrey's post, you will see that the article is from Melody Maker, February 4th 1973. I've got the original of this , which was spread across two half pages of MM. It includes a large black and white photo of Leonard's face. He has longish hair, a beard, and a moustache.

Re: Felicity Buirski New Album: "Committed to the Fire"

This album is one of the best things you will ever hear. For fullest appreciation. I would urge everyone to listen to the album in sequence, as intended (rather than too many random tracks). Side two in particular is a revelation.

Re: March 2019 Uncut Magazine

I bought this today at Euston Station. It's well worth-buying, as there are thirteen pages of Leonard inside. The article features quotes by major people connected to Leonard regarding ten of his studio albums plus "Songs From the Road" (no "Songs from a Room", "Death of a Ladies Man" or "Popular Pr...

Anyone who is familiar with Felicity Buirski’s music will be delighted to hear that her third album is now available for download, and will very soon (late January 2019) be available to purchase on CD. For those who are not familiar with Felicity’s work, I will briefly outline her significance. Feli...

Re: Kiki Dee "Dance Me to the End of Love"

Thanks for the comments everyone! I've always loved Kiki's version of "Amoreuse", as well as the French version by Veronique Sanson, who wrote it. Here's an earlier live version of "Dance Me to the End of Love" by Kiki and Carmelo (wrongly listed as "Dance Me to the end of Time"). They've developed ...

Kiki Dee "Dance Me to the End of Love"

One of the U.K.s greatest female singers Kiki Dee, has recorded an interesting and original version of "Dance Me to the End of Love" on her new live CD with guitarist Carmelo Luggeri. The CD also includes fine covers of Joni Mitchell's "How Do You Stop" and Kate Bush's "Running Up That Hill" (plus f...

"Rock Me Goddess" by Julie Felix

Here's my review: Rock Me Goddess" is a superb collection of new songs and re-recordings by Sixties folk legend Julie Felix, released to coincide with her 80th birthday concert in 2018. It includes thirteen songs; nine of which were written by Julie. Miraculously, the album contains some of Julie's ...
