Re: Todd Lowe has passed away

I am so shocked and upset to hear this. Todd was always so full of life and he and Kerri were a wonderful couple. It was a joy to see them together. I will treasure the memories of the time we spent with them.

Condolences seem so inadequate.

Re: "A new album of original Leonard Cohen songs is in the works"

Wendy, there will be no tribute concerts this time (this is confirmed by the management). The album of ten new songs is scheduled to November, but we don't need to wait so long to hear the first song, and maybe some more before the CD release date. Eva Poola sent us a link to Canadian Post: https:/...

Re: "A new album of original Leonard Cohen songs is in the works"

It is now almost a year since we first had news of the posthumous album from Adam and some months since the French press told us that the album would be coming out in November, accompanied by tribute concerts in Paris, Montreal and New York. Does anyone have any further concrete news or updates? Wendy

Re: The MAC Exhibition for LC to go to New York, Copenhagen, San Francisco

I’ve never been in GL STRAND but Nikolaj Kunsthal is a lovely space. It’s an old church close by with exhibits going all the way up the tower. Both venues are very central. I am in Copenhagen most years late November or early December and I am looking forward to seeing the exhibition again later thi...

Re: 2 old books will be published in 2020

Thanks for this information WiTS. They both look like new English translations of older books. Whether Amazon which actually have them come January is another matter. I have my doubts as I have had several pre-orders of more unusual items cancelled by Amazon just before and after release date. We’ll...

Re: Event dates: August 7-9 2020

Very much looking forward to our return to Ghent in 2020 Maarten!

When do you hope to have news for us on venue location, hotel discounts etc? (I had a quick look just now at the prices for the hotel we have stayed in in Ghent previously and all I can say is ouch ...)

Re: Leonard and Bob Dylan in 1975

No problem Dave! I still haven’t finished it but I got past 1975 and knew I’d read about it in there. I have to be honest - I’m not a fan. I’m not keen on her writing style and the book reminds me of those people who write everything they know about a subject in exams instead of answering the questi...

Re: Leonard and Bob Dylan in 1975

Sylvie Simmons dedicates 3 paragraphs to Dylan’s attempts to get Leonard to join the Rolling Thunder Review and subsequently the Montreal show in chapter 14 of I’m Your Man.

And almost 10 years since Leonard paid tribute to her at the Antwerp show on 4 July 2009.

I loved her versions of Leonard’s songs. A very sad loss.

Re: Review of Jewish Museum Show A Crack in Everything

Seems like they made Leonard into Disneyland. It made this reviewer want to puke but he liked Sylvie Simmons Hallelujah essay. Too many gimmicks and kitsch. I haven't seen it yet, and I'm not in a hurry after this review, but someday I may check it out. https://www.washingtonpost.com/amphtml/entert...

Vickie - the restriction on liquids in carry on is an international one and strictly enforced everywhere since 2006. Make sure the containers are no bigger than 100ml. I’ve seen people try to take a small amount in a larger bottle causing problems at security. Personally I have also had a 100ml bott...
