Re: Cohen's house on Hydra

If you loved Hydra wait till you spend some time on Mykonos! It's more a tourist destination, beautiful, all white houses, "The bride of the Aegean." Lots of artists too, painters especially appreciate the morning light. Less rocky than Hydra, another feature. No Leonard Cohen traces, though.

Vivre Tout Seule /Bird on a Wire Leonard live English subtitled

French singer/songwriter Serge Lama adapted Leonards Bird on a Wire as Vivre Tout Seule. Lama seems to think Freedom is being free from others. Leonard sang it in Paris in 1976. While it lacks the poetic imagery of the original, the music is still there. Serge is the author of the depressive chanson...

Review of Jewish Museum Show A Crack in Everything

Seems like they made Leonard into Disneyland. It made this reviewer want to puke but he liked Sylvie Simmons Hallelujah essay. Too many gimmicks and kitsch. I haven't seen it yet, and I'm not in a hurry after this review, but someday I may check it out. https://www.washingtonpost.com/amphtml/enterta...

Soulful, soothing Cohen covers by John Bergeron as we see New York and the event's participants, your...

A Source for Tacoma Trailer?

Wherever did Leonard get the musical inspiration for Tacoma Trailer, the instrumental cut on The Future? The Jazz Police have discovered a clue. It may be stolen from a 1968 piece by Yusef Lateef Listen to this beautiful piece, especially 5:59 onward. Sound familiar? https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=...
