Re: LC wins 2018 Grammy Award for You Want It Darker!

Well, LC kept on recycling some answers all through his life. But we - His people, amen - forgive him because we know he was a poet, but also a performer - and a performer always needs a script. ;-) About the ceremony. You're right, B4real: the winner's announcement was held during the Premiere Cere...

Re: THE FLAME - Leonard's New Collection of Poetry

Thank you, Jarkko! Yet, even though The McClelland & Stewart edition is due out on October 16th, Amazon.com says that the Farrar, Straus and Giroux edition is due out on October 2nd. https://www.amazon.com/Flame-Poems-Notebooks-Leonard-Cohen/dp/0374156069/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1517105141&am...

Re: Next Step: Charity projects

This is to report that we have today donated 10,000 eur to the Social Supermarket and Social Pharmacy of Hydra. These charity projects are operated by the Municipality of Hydra. Our money will be used to buy food and medicines to local people who have urgent needs. There are many - often elderly pe...

Re: THE FLAME - Leonard's New Collection of Poetry

I miss knowing that Leonard was out there breathing air somewhere. Interacting and sharing his life with others. Living. But he is here. He has always been here. The world is all forgetting, and the heart is a rage of directions, but his name unifies the heart, and the world is lifted into his plac...

Re: THE FLAME - Leonard's New Collection of Poetry

Oh, just to put things straight: I don't have an advance copy to proof read myself, I was merely posting this photo here... Alas... Maarten Oh, alas!, then you are not cruel at all, Maarten, and oh, alas!, you are suffering along with us all. Oh, isn't that nice, to wait and suffer all together, my...

Re: THE FLAME - Leonard's New Collection of Poetry

Well, perhaps some people are still proof reading it... :) TheFlame.JPG Maaaaaaaarteeeeeeeeen, stop it! You make our hearts bleed, toss and turn in the cradle of our chests, craving for the forbidden book. Alas, you are cruel! Ok, no, I'm joking. You are just blessed and very lucky. (And a little b...

I think I messed up: that was not a new line, it was probably the old line "My heart will be hers". I think I just missed the final S.
Ooooops.

Here is the video of the concert for Leonard's fans around the world: http://www.mediafire.com/file/ju6bs7okjkm5ha7/LC.mkv Thank you so much, Bernard! Steer Your Way & The Battle Hymn Of The Republic

The other day a friend of mine pointed out the similarity between "as he died to make men holy, let us die to make things cheap" in Steer Your Way and "as he died to make men holy, let us die to make men free" in The Battle Hymn of the Republic (https://it.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Th...

Re: The Darker Album and the Songs

From the title track to this last verse, the question of faith on this album seems to be conveyed from quite a different place than that from which Leonard sang on If It Be Your Will or Hallelujah. That's exactly what I meant. I'm not quite sure that's a faith issue. I don't think he lost his faith...
