Door Nr. Seven

This is a poem, or really just a mass of obscure thoughts, that was written when I was in a very tired mood. I wasn't inspired in any degree, had no great ideas or appeals to begin with, so figured I'd write about that feeling which itself bares no strength whatsoever and is as hollow and pointless ...

Re: This is not the world's greatest poem.

Thanks and no I don't mind. I usually just write the poems without line breaks, but your version is definetly better. :)

Two new poems.

These two poems were written very recently and are, in my opinion, some of my more happy and cheery stuff. Comments and criticism are highly encouraged as I have quite frankly no idea whether or not I'm any good at this. The Morning Star The sun is slowly rising beyond a sky so dark but I can still ...

Dark Eyes & Oh Brother

This is a poem for a girl I met at a concert. It might be a bit cliché and probably won't lead to any everlasting truth or anything, but here goes: Dark Eyes My Lady Dark Eyes as pale and soft as snow how many days I've cried I love you so And I may die and be born to life anew but never shall I sto...

Re: Everybody has to write at least one poem about the moon

There is a place that I go alone when the moon is red and all my dreams have yet to be told And Lord I pray and Lord I hope that someday I may follow You and go back home How I hate this barren road these crooked hills so pale and still and cold as stone In the shade the midnight crow is still waiti...

Rose

Here's my first real English poem, I wrote it a few years ago. I have, honestly, no clue as to what's it about, but mostly it's feeling of longing, I guess, as well as courage, choosing a path in life... or something. Anyway, here goes: Rose Rose sweetest discord a cry of a thunder hawk rivers blue ...

Re: Just two poems.

Hi Minna and thanks a lot for your comments. It’s been well over five years since my last heavy metal days and it doesn’t really speak to me anymore. There are some great bands out there though, no doubt about that. “Timelessly cool” seems to describe Mr. Cohen quite well, sadly it seems that you’ll...

Fascinating EuchridEucrow ignore the troll, William. He started out pretending to be an urbane old buffer, but he is now playing an alcoholic twat and he hasn't even bothered to change his troll name. How lazy is that! thanks for posting Sue That is bad! :o Though to be honest, I didn't think he wa...

The Givers

A few days ago, my mom and I discussed a certain episode of the I'm Your Man DvD, where Leonard talks about the Givers. He says: "...The givers started to give me things, then to take them away, the things that didn't fit, they put back into the emptiness of the void. The gifts were many and ma...

The Wanderer

Here's another poem that I've called "The Wanderer". It's not about an actual journey, but more of spiritual one "driven with passion and with pain". I see a man sitting outside. It is still dark, though not real dark anymore, it is just before dawn. And I see a woman, a mother o...

Just two poems.

I'm 21 and have been listening to Leonard Cohen for about two years, since I first heard the Essentiel Leonard Cohen. I spend most of my pre-teens listening to heavy metal, but at the age of 14 I 'discovered' Nick Cave through my brother and through Cave I was introduced to other artists, such as To...
