Re: Leonard Has Passed Away

So sad to hear the news this morning. I shed some tears. Thank you Leonard for your music, which I first discovered in the early 70s when I went on a school exchange trip to France. My first album was 'Songs From A Room'. I never got a chance to see him in the early days and I thought I never would....

Re: Knighthood for Leonard suggested on Radio 5!

I don't know about Canadians not being able to accept foreign honours. Canada is part of the Commonwealth and as such citizens can receive honours from the Queen. Two members of the Commonweath (not Canadians) who spring to mind are Dame Kiri te Kanawa (New Zealand) and Sir Garfield Sobers (West Ind...

Re: CONCERT REPORT: Liverpool, July 14

What a wonderful show it was last night! Despite Leonard and the band being on the road for over a year they still seem to be enjoying it. I can't add much more to what has already been said, except that I was very pleased to hear The Partisan again. I loved it towards the end, when Leonard was doin...

Re: "Leonard Cohen Live in London" - DVD & 2CD - April 2009

I finally got the DVD yesterday and watched it last night. Call me old fashioned but I bought the DVD at a local independent record shop, I didn't want to buy it online paying money to some huge faceless company. I thought it a wonderful souvenir of the wonderful evening I spent in the company of Le...

Re: Special Leonard Cohen 7'' single for Record Store Day?

There are 2 record shops in my town taking part in the day, but I don't think either of them would have have the special 7" single.

I have ordered one from Village Records. So huge thanks to Hawawiiphil for posting that link.

Re: PRESALE TO LIVERPOOL TODAY (March 24)

Thank you once again Jarkko for letting us know about the pre-sales. I've got 2 for Liverpool, not as close to the front as I would like, but at least it's Leonard AGAIN!! I've also booked a room at the Albert Dock Premier Inn. I've stayed there before when I've been to shows at the Summer Pops. It'...

Re: Cardiff, November 8

Apologies for being so very late in posting my thoughts and impressions of Cardiff. I haven't been online very much since then. Again it was a wonderful and magical evening. We had seats in row F, so only 6 rows and some floor between me and the great man. Luckily the two couples who sat in the 4 se...

Re: Find, sell or swap Fall Tour tickets here

CARDIFF - 8TH NOVEMBER Having managed to buy, and now received, the special tickets offered to members of this forum. I now have 2 spare tickets for the show in Cardiff. They are in block 8, row F. They cost me £143.00 (£65.00 + £6.50 service charge = £71.50 each). I'm only looking to get back what...
