I find Dear Heather to be a very personal and intimate offering. A stream of consciousness. For the life of me I can't understand the resentment of Sharon Robinson or the synthesizer. As someone else has said, if I long to hear a guitr, all I need do is pick up Various Positions, or Songs of, .........

I guess I have listened to DH at least 30 times. Such a fine balance between exquisitely light and exquisitely sad. This is the first time I am aware that Leonard is speaking most definitely on a timely and specific topic -- and more than once -- on this album. Arab and Jew. NYC. So many graves to f...

Undertow is mezmerizing. Beautifully phrased. I think Anjani's voice is perfect for it, and leonard's mark is sufficient.

I'm with you, Linda! Evocative indeed. Even without a memory of that trailer.

The cross
On every hill,
The star
the minaret.

So many graves to fill.
Oh, love, aren't you tired yet?

Alas, Brent and I never shared the love of Cohen. I think I kept him to myself! We made some attempts at reconcilliation, but we were both so unformed, and individually struggled with various addictions. In the end I think one of his killed him. He re-married to a woman very unlike me, much to the d...

Liz, you are so brave and honest.

My own former is gone on to the next world. I think of him often and believe we belonged to each other, and perhaps screwed it up. Sometimes it occurs to me that what it would have taken to keep it together would have destroyed us individually.

And Charles,I love America. I want America to live up to her dreams. If you never have dissention and discourse, how do you do this? American was founded on these princples. Would you have us abandon them? Would you have us walk unquestionably into a foray that has divided our beloved country? We mu...

I AM a fan of the Christ, and I am ashamed by what passes as Christianity these days. :?:

Who do you think Jesus would be hanging out with if he were here on earth?

To take a page from David Bowie: .. . this is not America. ... this is not the miracle... We are in a spiritual quagmire wherein a deeply divided nation half of whicxh thinks "Pro-life" involves only fetuses, and that "values" are something held only by religious fanatics who hav...

I love Sharon Robinson's voice and thoroughly enjoy her collaboration with Leonard. Leonard's changing styles has kept him fresh for me. I suppose I am off-topic, heh? Lizzy, why on EARTH did you ever leave that husband??? Well, actually, my first was also a talented musician, and I am on my ...

Well, okay.....the number 2 limerick was:

Said Clinton to young Ms. Lewinski
We don't want to leave clues like Kozinski;
So clean up this mess
Use the hem of your dress
And wipe that stuff off of your chinski!

I find myself listening to Essential Cohen and Cohen Live most. Of course, these are compilations. I am mezmerized by Dear Heather, and enjoying it like a new lover! The Faith is fabulous, but I am drawn to listen to the entire CD over and over. I find it startling, surpsrising, and fresh.
