Re: Leonard Has Passed Away

When I listened to Leonard's latest album (how hard to actually write "last"), I couldn't and did not want to fight some tears. It was sadness because a dear one said farewell, and it was gratitude because that dear one had been in my life. When I heard the news on the radio today, there w...

Re: The Darker album: Interviews and reviews in the media

Here's yet another "Best New Music" review. Well-written piece of musical criticism throughout, it has also a rather beautiful ending, which most of us will probably very much relate to. http://pitchfork.com/reviews/albums/22514-you-want-it-darker/ Best new music by Stacey Anderson Associa...

Re: New Album announced: 'You Want It Darker'

I just listened to the album for the very first time.
Thank God I was alone at home. This is a truly moving experience from beginning to end.
What a masterpiece (sorry to repeat the word that so many others have used before, but it can't be repeated often enough).

Re: "So long, Marianne. Leonard Cohen's final letter to his muse"

Hartmut, please count me among those who consider the breaking of privacy problematic. Before I found this thread, though, I did post the link (with a warning as to its quoting the letter) to the Idenpendent's article in the other threat http://www.leonardcohenforum.com/viewtopic.php?f=3&t=36702...

Re: Sad news: Marianne Ihlen dies

RIP, Marianne I am not entirely sure if it's breaking too much privacy, but as it's been in a UK national paper, the text is out, anyway. If you feel you rather would not read what Leonard wrote to Marianne, don't click the link. Apart from the privacy issue, this is really a very moving article. ht...

1000 Kisses Deep (iZombie 2.11 soundtrack)

I just got around to watch this weeks iZombie episode. Towards the end, when "emotional" (TV) turns "tragic" (as in Aristotle's concept), Leonard comes on with 1000 Kisses Deep . I'm quite, but not entirely, sure it's not the album version. ;) If you are in the US, you can watch ...

Read another birthday article, boys... the FAZ (Ger) on LC

Dear friends,

this birthday article appeared in today's FAZ. Not surprisingly, yet another journalist couldn't resist writing from the heart rather than the "facts". Well, the "old man" deserves it, doesn't he?

Article in the Forward: LC at 80

Dear friends, I know this article could be linked to from many sub-forums, I just felt the birthday one to be just that bit more appropriate than the Popular Problems one and all the others. :) http://forward.com/articles/205890/a-song-of-love-and-memory-for-leonard-cohen-at- http://m.forward.com/ar...

Re: CONCERT REPORT: Mannheim, June 28

Sorry for the long delay, blame it to my boss who keeps thinking, the work has to be done, regardless of the time available... :) However, at long last, I have managed to provide a translation of the early concert report I had linked to in a previous posting. It has proven to be quite difficult for ...

Re: CONCERT REPORT: Mannheim, June 28

I've come across the first critical review of the concert. I tend to disagree with the critic in one or two minor points, but overall, it's worth having a look at. I hope there will be more reviews to come with slightly more substance with respect to the actual music (this one, however, is a quick f...

Re: Is it becoming slightly stale?

I have just been to the concert in Mannheim and can answer the TS's question with a definite NO. As someone earlier began to point out, the new arrangement of Lover, Lover, Lover alone justifies the concert with travel, entrance fee and fight for a toilet (if you happen to be female). But it's more ...

Re: Mannheim has been moved to June 28

Please keep your fingers crossed for me. I am due to return from a 4-day field trip to the UK that very day am (last year around, the channel was closed off and we were 8 hours late, which would be "fatal" now).
Still very much looking forward to Leonard performing!

Re: PRESALE ON TUESDAY TO 4 CONCERTS IN GERMANY

The Miracle did actually come... Mannheim was on and I managed two seats. Not exactly front row, but, hey, it's a concert, not a picture exhibition! Block 105, Row 13. :) So much looking forward to see and hear Leonard again! And: Jarkko: Although I am not a very frequent poster here, I still would ...
