Leonard Cohen Files Suit

Just read in the New York Times today, 6 October 2005, that Leonard has filed law suit against his personal manager Kelly Lynch and his former tax lawyer accusing them of stealing almost 5 million dollars from him between 1997 and 2004. The article states that while he is awaiting the outcome of the...

Welcome Robert. I have heard of Iris and seen her in interviews when the 'Rape of Nanking' was published. She was a very passionate person and sincerely tried to make the world aware of a serious wrong that had been done to a people.

Well Kush, I hope that wasn't aimed at me :-).. People of course are free to form their opinions about everything, from Songs of LC to the meaning of life. It was just my personal take on the take of others about 'Dear Heather and LC's songs in general. To paraphrase: Let's not talk of love or hate ...

A strange take on the new album. While I also could say I liked this or that album of Leonard's the best I realize that people grow and find new ways to express themselves. I personally find 'Dear Heather' a great album. It's true it's different, that's very true but I also realize that if you appro...

Got the K.D. Lang album and while the Hallelujah was interesting I found the whole album strangely flat and lacking emotion. However the album cover is great.

And high above the wedding guests he hung the ashes of her wedding dress. Several girls embraced me then I was embraced by men, is my passion perfect? No do it all again. Kush, couldn't agree more. I really love the way she does Democracy and Boogie Street. Can't believe she's almost (if not) 70. Her voice sounds effortless. Have it in my car and play going and coming from work.

Justin, listened to your version of a Thousand Kisses Deep and really like your voice. I think the guitar arrangement is a little too 'sprightly' It doesn't have to be as slow as LCs' but not sure the Travis Pick works with that song. It's possible of course that if I had heard your version first I ...

In reply to John K. My friend Richard and I both enjoyed your singing and I can emphathize with you regarding the 'open mike' experience. Doing Leonard Cohen at a coffee house type venue is very brave of you. When I do that I usually stick to Suzanne and That's No Way To Say Goodbye. I did Joan of A...

Stefan, allow me to 2nd, 3rd, etc. all the reponses to your note about being undecided about attending the event. I myself admit that I waffled quite awhile before I decided to sign up. But having done so I'm glad I bit the bullet and did it. I've admired his music since I brought his first album in...

Another song that has the same effect on me is 'God Is Alive Magic Is Afoot bye Buffy St. Marie. Discovering Leonard Cohen's music is like good wine an experience to be savored; something whi...
