Important correction in Harvey Kubernik's book

After much research and help from a few Leonard contacts (thankyou Amanda, Carrie and Robert) , I need to correct the information concerning one item in the Discography in Harvey's book. Page 218: In Their Own Voices: A Century Of Recorded Poetry. I wrote that "Leonard reads his own song lyric 'Stor...

1993 concerts in Canada and USA

Just wondering if anyone at these Canada / USA concerts in June and July 1993 can confirm for me if there was a rotating glitter-ball during Leonard's performances of 'Take This Waltz', as had been the case in Europe in April and May ... And is there any chance of someone who went to the AUSTIN show...

Re: 1993 VIENNA CONCERT MAY 30

Good news! And a correction. And my apology. I've come across the Rebecca and cake photo: it's in Sylvie's book, page 373 ... but I'd obviously mis-remembered the pose and words ... no knife cutting the cake, and the wording's different too; but it is the photo I was after. Sorry to folks whom I'd m...

Re: Montreal Leonard Cohen Memorial Commemorative Box Set

The delightful thing about this boxed set is the mix ‘n’ match of the visual and aural elements. It’s a thoughtful collection of various art forms and formats. Although I wasn’t at the Montreal Tribute concert in November 2017, I can know I will be there when my discs arrive in November 2020; and I’...

1993 VIENNA CONCERT MAY 30

VIENNA, MAY 30, 1993
I think I remember seeing a photograph of Rebecca De Mornay cutting into a big cake backstage in Vienna. But just can't remember where I saw this... can anyone help me out on this please?
Thank you. JD

1993 tours in Europe and North America

I'm working on a project on Leonard's tours in 1993 : Europe April 25 to May 30; then North America June 5 to July 30. I have traced most of the concert songlists performed, but am still missing a few ... just wondering if there's folks reading this who may have attended the 'missing' ones listed be...

Re: A Leonard Cohen Song Quiz

That was a great quiz Doron, thanks for the challenges!! I 'd like to add a few more answers to question 25 for the musical instruments: Clarinet ... in 'Sing Another Song, Boys' [She tempts him with a clarinet] Bells ... in 'Take This Longing' [Many men have loved the bells]; in 'Night Comes On' [T...

Re: Linda Sturgess has passed away

I am very sad to read this about my friend Linda, R.I.P. She was very generous to me over many years with LC discs she had spent many many hours collating for me. I will miss her dedication to matters Leonard, but more than this, as a loyal friend. My sincere condolences to Linda's family and friends.

Re: Guitar tab bird on a wire

How's about tuning your guitar strings down one whole tone ... would that help? And then just use your A-sharp tabs ... just a thought. Best of luck.

ALAIN-FOURNIER 1886-1914

In my attempt to continue down-sizing, and also lack of bookshelf-space, I am parting with my collection of books by and about the great French writer Alain-Fournier - author of 'Le Grand Meaulnes ', many many poems and pages and pages of newspaper articles back in the mid-1900s - all of which have ...

REVIEW Leonard Cohen Is My Spirit Guide (A Celebration of Leonard Cohen)

Compered by Kerry Shale (calling himself "also a Canadian Jew"), this evening of 19 Leonard Cohen covers [with a couple of 'related' songs] was a thoroughly enjoyable blend of music and poetry [all Leonard's]. In the Jubilee Church, Hull town centre near the City Hall, in a very comfortable seat a f...
