Re: Random LC moment I am adoring today

I really wanted to hear The Partisan as done by Leonard Cohen so I dialed up some of his songs today. After a few songs Hallelujah came on, during the song I heard the sound of gunshots, so I walked out of my house and listened to Taps, my house is near a cemetery and there was a US military funeral...

Re: More Links

I noticed that there are two sources for Helsinki 93 online as well, an FM source and an audience recording, that would be cool too to make into a matrix, the FM is incomplete but fairly substantial and clean. Combining the sources doesn't guarantee that it will sound great, but I have heard some go...

Re: More Links

1974 October 10 Jahrhunderthalle The Frankfurt show took place on October 6 , 1974. You are correct, my mistake. Sorry. I will edit my post. The files are labeled as taking place on October 6, 1974. I can copy and paste the text file to this one if anyone wants it too. Probably should point out whi...

Re: Brent Mydland's last show.

mr. midnight, I'm glad you checked that out! Cool. I recently listened to recordings of July 6 and July 7 1984 Alpine Valley, they are on the archive. Donna getting on board added a much needed feminine element to the band after the days of Pigpen, who, incidentally, dated Janis Joplin, as did Cohen...

Re: Brent Mydland's last show.

Awesome. :D Yeah Donna is the backup singer that was with them for most of the 70s. The Grateful Dead is definitely a great live band and fun because you can stream/download almost all of their unreleased shows, audience and soundboard recordings from the 60s to 95 on archive.org. Brokedown Palace a...

Kuppelsaal 85

This aud has a certain majesty and comes recommended by hardcore fans. FLAC, text, and other files are completely unaltered (besides being archived to one file in .rar format) as they should be as with the other couple shows that I posted.

Lou and Sue should get together and do a version of Sister Ray, I would buy it.

I would like to up a few more decent Cohen free trade flac roios in time, it might be a little while though because of this and that. Great show, setlist on this one. Again please let me know of any issues, I am posting this in good faith here as a big fan of the master. http://www.megaupload.com/?d...

Re: Brent Mydland's last show.

I like Brent. He was a very passionate guy. Mydland's voice is like whiskey or smoke, an acquired taste. He was an extremely talented keyboardist. Of the keyboardists of the Dead, here are my thoughts. Tom Constanten was pretty good but didn't have a large amount of presence but he was better than P...

Re: Whats your favourite Leonard Cohen's song?

I enjoy a lot of Cohen's songs, he's got a deep catalog.
I love The Partisan, I realize it's not technically an original Leonard Cohen song, but his version is excellent.
If that doesn't count I really like Tower of Song.
