Re: allow me to litter this forum one last time

Hi Sideways and Cate.

I wouldn't worry too much about the afore mentioned gentlemen. I believe they are just off auditioning to become the Statler and Waldorf of the forum (though I suspect they've held that position for many years)... ;-)

Re: Those Were The Days - Liam Clancy

Nice song Diane. Another Irish legend I like is the wonderful Luke Kelly. Scorn Not His Simplicity is a beautiful song also written by Phil Coulter which Kelly does with great emotion. https://youtu.be/jcNuxNLN3yM I'm sure you'll enjoy Finbar Furey. Union Chapel is a great venue. I was there a few w...

Re: Those Were The Days - Liam Clancy

Love this song Tony...never heard this Liam Clancy version.

Always thought Liam did Eric Bogle's, 'And the Band Played Waltzing Matilda' with great feeling.

Also love 'Fiddlers Green'

Re: mess :-(

The water looks lovely. I always find sitting by the river very relaxing. You really captured the essence of him in the eyes Geoffrey... Whether imagination or not; and although he may only sit with you for a brief moment, it's obvious you still hold his spirit in your heart, which means he will alw...

I love this picture Geoffrey. You get the impression that he has mischief on his mind.
It made me smile, Thank you.

Re: ink

Love this... It looks complicated; was it? Saw this and thought of you... http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-5749895/Pierce-Brosnan-sells-1million-Bob-Dylan-painting-charity.html I'm glad he made a lot of money for charity but I still think some of your Dylan paintings are much better. Hope you...

Re: Madonna Performs 'Haleluya' At Met Gala 2018

'Chacun à son goût' or 'À chacun son goût', depending on one's use of language, taste or sense of pedantry. Definitely not to my taste Tony. Or should I say, Certainement pas à mon gout ... Not really a Madonna fan. Sorry to hear that you are in need of a carer; though I’m not surprised after heari...

Ouch!

That hit a nerve...
(I promised you the Truth

not a moral fucking life.)
Great line.
Empty fucking bastard Sunday

Useless, wasted, hopeless, crying, wasted
That could apply to any day of the week. Just hoping the weather will improve sometime.

Great piece Sideways

That's a great song but I had no idea which album it was from. Nice one! For those who don't know the song, though I'm sure most will. https://youtu.be/UfZWp-hGCdA Not keen on lemons in drinks but I do like lemon tea and I have a freshly squeezed lemon every morning; it makes your mouth pucker a bit...

Re: complete the poem.....(Haiku)

Solong wrote I get a disproportionate satisfaction knowing you didn’t get the pretzel or the coke comments. That makes the whole 3 minutes for all my answers worth it. In my opinion pretzels have no flavour at all, though I’m not sure where the logic is in that, and although you take your coke with...

Re: leonard made a bad choice

i've been listening to a song leonard sings on one of his CDs. it's called 'choices', and was written apparently by some chap called george jones. that's fair enough, but i'm having trouble coming to grips with the opening verse, which also serves as the chorus. it starts: " i've had choices since ...

Re: complete the poem.....(Haiku)

Things Karren's mother should have taught her instead. I think she had most of it covered. Religion….. “You better pray kneeling on a corner of that carpet” She also told me to wear knee pads to avoid carpet burns Logic………. “Pretzel flavour” Women don’t do logic, it’s overrated. Foresight….. “remove...
