Wow -- hoping this goes as stated -- I can certainly make the show in SF at Cafe Du Nord (a favorite venue of mine!) Leonard or no, I'd love to see Anjani. Just checked, and no advance tix are available yet. So jealous of you who get to go to NYC show -- I just can't swing the $ at the moment. Now i...

Wow, I'm way late in replying, but I pretty much echo everone else's sentiments... Anthem actually made me cry, it was so beautiful!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I also loved Alvin's democracy, and Jackson Browne's 1000 kisses deep -- I'm a die-hard Jackson Browne fan, so that one was particularly special. The wh...

We are going down for a long weekend with a packed car of paintings to deliver, so sadly we can't offer a ride (only room for 2 ppl in the car as it is....) Otherwise, I'd love ...

I'd have to say Nick Cave first, with John Cale and Tom Waits close behind....

I'm a die-hard N. Cave fan, though....

I don't profess to know what LC means, but I've always read it a bit the way you describe -- a love triangle of sorts, wherein LC's woman runs off with another man (with his permission?), thus enslaving them all....and there is indeed a strong hint at male/male sexual intimacy here, too. One of my v...

I'm not much for strict analysis, either (except as a fun, academic exercise) -- typically what is important in my book is the emotions that a song stirs in me, personally. I do think, however, that the conditional tense in the line "*like* you *would do* for one you love" is important -- ...

I promise you a review of Perla's gig, (from my perspective, anyhow.)

I'm saving my travel-to-Canada funds for the possibility of a Cohen tour, which remains a speculation, but one I'm not willing to dismiss.

Heck, I'd fly to Europe for that if need be......

Yes, the spelling of *jaw* harp was intentional. My ex-husband is Jewish, and took offense at the term "Jews harp" for some reason -- I gather this is not exclusive to him. (He could, admittedly, be a bit persnickety at times.)

I love the song Alexandra Leaving.

Coil

Wow -- sorry to resurrect an ages old thread, but a Coil fan is about the last thing I ever expected to find on this site! I've heard that cover of Who By Fire, and I love what they did with it!

I haven't listened to much Coil in a while....
