I watched the DVD "Ladies and Gentlemen: Mr. Leonard Cohen" and it shows him perform as a stand-up comic! It was pretty funny too!
Does anyone know anything about his work as a stand-up comic? I heard he used to be a hypnotist as well.

Oh, and can I also nominate every live version of 'Bird on the Wire' I have ever come across? That song just gets better and better. Absolutely, I don't think I've heard a live version of it that wasn't better than the studio version either. But there's one song I feel can almost never be better li...

Hi Linda and Sane Man, I don't see where one necessarily precludes the other, Linda. Seems it may be hard to commit to the imperfect woman, while still waiting for the perfect one to appear. I agree, however, that the idealized woman has been an issue for Leonard, as well as a number of other men.....

Leonard Cohen has had his share of these moments, what are the ones that stand out in your minds? (It needn't be at a concert, it can be from o...

It's the tormenting fact that all youthful expectations for what will come, isn't worth a dime in comparison to the ability to take advantage ...

What do you think is "the awful truth" that can't be "revealed to the years of youth" and which "isn't worth a dime"?
What is he referring to with this line?

Meaning of "Death of a ladies' man"
What do you think is the meaning behind the title of the album and the theme of the album? Does it have anything to do with Leonard Cohen's life situation at the time or any events that had happened to him? Was his life changing at the time so that he was going through a transition in life? I don't ...
