Re: MOJO magazine - February 2011 issue
Shouldn't this topic be in other music? Quite what relevance Bob Geldof has to the music of Leonard Cohen is lost on me. Masterful commentator of the inner landscape - media executive!

I think you'll find it's the British Isles, as us Celts would like to be included in any future tour.

Re: Announcement of the Nov 27 concert in Phnom Penh
So you're such a "hard-core fan" that you'll never be listening to anything by Mr. Cohen ever again. Listen, I'm sorry you've lost money on this but what about the open hearted many and broken hearted few who are on their knees and haven't been able to raise the funds to attend a concert i...

Re: To the 2010 World Tour organizers: Cities Wish List
A very apt name though as it appears in one of the greatest poems of Fedorico Garcia Lorca, which Leonard used to often quote from in concert, Gacela de la muerte oscura. "Quiero dormir el sueno de las manzana,"......... The english translation I like best is by Merryn Williams but she cha...

Re: Armistice Sunday
In the U.K Armistice Day is also November 11th but the Sunday before that date has countrywide, services of remembrance at war memorials, probably because it is not a working day for most people and Armistice Day is not a Bank Holiday. In Cardiff last year Leonard's reference was to the Armistice Su...

Armistice Sunday
Do they have Armistice Sunday in the U.S.? Last year in Cardiff on November 8th there was a pause between songs and when we fell to silence Leonard spoke these words
......Friends...............It's Armistice Sunday tomorrow............
.......................I wish they could all come home.

.......................I wish they could all come home.

Re: a big help to identify a tango song where LC accompanies a w
I think Laura's sussed it...it sounds like "Boogie Street". Perhaps Leonard will write another "Tango" song when he finds a word to rhyme with orange?! I belive that Leonard has found such a rhyme, as he noted in a TV interview back in the '90s: "door-hinge." (okay, it...

Re: Leonard Cohen Night - BBC4 (UK) - June 19
Anyone know who the guy is who greets Leonard at Hydra as he gets off the Flying Dolphin? Leonard says something to the effect of "strange to meet this man here."
