Re: Take this Waltz

English and Spanish are both good languages for poetry! They're conveniently both written bilingually line for line in my Lorca book poetry book that I bought a few months ago, see here – https://www.leonardcohenforum.com/viewtopic.php?f=9&t=37392&p=370455&hilit=viennese#p370455 The book is still s...

Re: The Flame-discussion thread

Hi Brucester, Interesting connection between Leonard and Tom Dooley. I remember that song from my childhood ;-) And I forgot to mention another connection with Elvis and Leonard - they both sang Tennessee Waltz. LC's additional verse of it is not included with Elvis here but he does sing some ad lib...

Hi duhjoker, and welcome to the forum!

You will find the poem/prose titled "I Have Taken You" in Death Of A Lady's Man.
You can buy the book in quite a few places - just google it.

Re: The Flame-discussion thread

Mat, nice to catch up with you! I was thinking along the same lines that we do all approach Leonard from somewhat different angles – ain’t that the truth ;-) and it stands to reason because we are all individuals with varying life experiences colouring our thoughts. I’ve always thought that writing ...

Re: 26th January 2019

Warmest greetings to you Alan and Karin and all those at this landmark gathering! I do recognize some familiar faces there. Glad you all had a great Australia Day! No better way to spend it :D Ah, Alan, that’s so thoughtful of you to decorate "my" bedroom window with images of Leonard ;-) Thank you ...

Re: Random LC moment I am adoring today

Last night I was flicking channels on the TV when I chanced upon a movie with a huge magical green dragon in a night scene with a small boy. Not the sort of show I would usually watch but at that very moment, totally unexpected and completely out of context to what was on the screen came a familiar ...

Re: The Flame-discussion thread

Hey Mat, I look forward to your Magical Mystery Tour ;-) I have finished my first straight through read of The Flame and found myself slowing down through the notebook section. I’m not surprised by this because as many of you know I enjoy solving puzzles and making discoveries :) So I have to consid...

Ah Geoffrey, I am taken with the B&W "disguised" drawing because it's different and well thought out! …. I know you're going to say it only took you a short amount of time to do and I can see that it did ;-) The coloured painting you posted on 13 Jan is most compelling! It's my favourite so far in t...

Re: March 2019 Uncut Magazine

Thank you WiTS, That brought more than a tear to my eye! So bittersweet to read .... The first song I was drawn to instantly on this last album was Treaty and it still is - it really is "too beautiful" and that includes String Reprise/Treaty. I keep saying that we will indeed hear at least one more ...

Re: Along the way... Discovering Leonard's albums

Bev, regardiing kismet, I have always struggled with that word. Does it mean 'fate' like wikipedia says? I am not so sure. Is it more like serendipity? Vickie, I usually use the word "happenstance" as a generic one for coincidence, serendipity, luck, fate etc because I like it! But this time I thou...
