Re: Rank Leonard lyrics from saddest to happiest - and help a poor student :)

Hey, I agree the definition is very simplistic - we're not looking for the algorithm to completely analyze the songs. Leonard is also quite an ambitious targets - in other artists it was much easier to make the decisions (like The Cure - quite a difference between "Disintegration" and &quo...

Hey fellow Leonard fans! I used to be a bit active here in the old days :) Please help me :) It may look like spam but I swear it isn't! Short version - please rank the following Leonard Cohen *lyrics* from the saddest/most negative (first place) in your opinion to the happiest (last place). Try to ...

Re: Isle of Wight release (Oct 20) - all details

...what do you expect from a publication that thinks The Rolling Stones are the "greatest" rock and roll band of all time???...I would have expected a five-star rating from Rolling Stone with regard to material from Leonard's early recording period, but to each their own, I suppose. The r...

Re: CONCERT REPORT: Tel Aviv, September 24

I am sure it would have been recorded - wouldn't the organisers have recorded it? How can we contact them to request a DVD? It was recorded, but it isn't likely to be released... it's way too similar to "Live in London". I can see an EP working though... a collection of recording from the...

Re: CONCERT REPORT: Tel Aviv, September 24

The people before us didn't even pay for their tickets (got them as a present), and when "Bird on the Wire" began, one of them asked loudly "Isn't this Hallelujah?". Ho yes Yaniv, I know exactly what you're talking about! I sat in block number 14 next to a guy who was no anal I ...

I was lucky enough to be in the 24th row during the show, and in the encores we went forward and I was actually standing near the third row!! it was more then I could ever imagine. And I al...

Re: Is Leonard Cohen the most Jewish musician in the world?

Well, there are plenty of religious singers whose entire music is praising god and stuff, so I don't think Leonard is the most jewish one.

But out of singers with worldwide fame... I can't think of a more jewish well known singer.

Re: Isle of Wight release - all details

As far as I can see the amazon songlist is the same as the real one, with "Famous Blue Raincoat" and "Nancy" missing at the end. Anyway, I'm extremely excited about this... it's going to be a great live CD. The setlist is glorious - One of us Cannot Be Wrong, Stranger Song, Nancy...

WOW. This is an awesome setlist. I hope he keeps it for Israel. Famous Blue Raincoat --> If It Be Your Will --> Chelsea Hotel is such a great combination, three all-time favorites in a row!
