Old albums
I have never been a collector of anything even though I am a packrat. I do have a couple of LC's old albums boxed up in the garage with about 300 others (and some reel to reel, 8 track and cassettes. LOL). One of these days..... Anyhow, Saturday the Rabbi and I took the younger children for a Spring...

I am certain that I am poorer for not knowing this person, may he rest in peace, and not being knowledgeable of his work, but I am richer having read your words for him. And may you be well and comforted by memories, and have many properous years. I humbly offer this for all mourners....... Compassi...

Interesting answer and accepted. When first reading the original version I took those lines as the poet's casual remembrances sort of run on as Dylan T and B Dylan often did, and the piece was fine that way for me. But the next version may stand better to intense scrutiny. The inverting of words in ...

Byron, I agree almost 100% with what you say and your professor's recommendations. When I first went into the intelligence section of Special Forces at Fort Bragg as a new 2d Lieutenant in 1967, I was assigned to supervise two groups -- in between various training courses to which the Army sent me t...

I admire either version. The abrupt end to life and justaposition of 'innocent hours' and 'oblivion' are as brutally honest and frank as is death itself. AFter many readings I am certain that this is why I like this poem so much. Please excuse an old guy for tampering, but I will submit a slight alt...

AH, Mickey. Sorry for the total misguess about the author and the name. I am always looking for the less obvious and the hidden high cards. Once agin, this is a wonderful composition. I know what you mean about trying to make magic happen when you see someone who resembles a dead or missing loved on...

I agree with Lizzie, Simon. It is wonderful to have someone from a completely different point of view with great knowledge in areas in which I have little information comment on Leonard's works using cogent, valid arguments and references. Please continue. This subject is almost too voluminous for m...

I feel certain he will have his following. His songs will appear from time to time in some entertainment media, holographic movies or enteractive entertainment or some such. Some will 'catch' the tones and become dedicated fans. This is a complicated question, BTW. Society is being iundated with raw...

It's a shame that you can't see the other one. The part of it I have seen is every bit as evocative as the one which you can see. I had Quicktime 6.5 or somesuch but just DLd 7.0.4 which is the latest and I still can't see any more of it. I hate it when computer 'junk' doesn't function without tweak...

"Dance me" videos
This video is listed with many other LC videos but I just discovered it near the bottom of that list which I have been wroking my way through for days. What a wonderful work it is! http://www.youtube.com/watch_fullscreen?video_id=3K7LQLRlnas&l=288&fs=1&title=Leonard%20Cohen%20-%20Dance%2...

This got lost in the poetry contest results, metinks. I enjoyed it and it has elements of poetic prose. The hook are excellent and it makes me want to read more. I can accept it also as a finished work, aware of the face value, if that was the intent and leave the mysteries to the imagination and th...
