Re: Novel Writing Month
Lizzy, you are really pretty much sold on Obama? At this point, I am as skeptical about any of the major party politicians as some are of organized religeon. (How about a thread titled: "bush, a rediculous concept?") Anyway, let's hope that your optimism turns out to be well founded. Sorry...

Re: Novel Writing Month
No, Lizzy, it was one of the wierd evenings of my life last night, & that sometimes begets wierd behavior on my part. I found myself in the "Ydc Library" (not unlike the sure to be future old dick c. library or the present old bush library) (I wonder if young junior will have a library...

Re: Novel Writing Month
I wouldn't be looking for a new day job if I could do this: Adah: ….her bluish face creased with a pressure closing in, the near proximity of the other-than-life that crowds down around the edges of living. Her eyes closed up tightly, and her swollen lips clamped shut. Her spine curved, and her limb...

Re: Novel Writing Month
Hi Ydc good to hear from you again. I intended to post here with my ideas on why I didn't make it to the magic 50,000 and will do so before Christmas. I think the attempt was worthwhile and am not too disappointed. That actually sounds like a good idea, Damellon. that kind of post nano-thread deser...

Re: Novel Writing Month
Hey, Madonna, (& on edit, I didn't intend to leave Martine out) sorry for the somewhat belated response to your post; you know how it goes w/ Ydc, always another round of who knew what when--the typical treachery & deceipt are always enough to keep any ruler occupied. Anyway, I am sorry to r...

Re: Novel Writing Month
Hi Ydc Can you hear the strained silence coming from here? I have to admit defeat at this stage. I'm not going to make it, word-count wise. Thanks for all your encouragement, I really appreciate it. You too Lizzy. Blonde Madonna, Martine - will you guys make it to the finishing line? I have my fing...

Re: Novel Writing Month
Thanks for asking Ydc she says with a sigh I stopped writing for a few days but I am back at it again, pushed through 20,000 and on the way to 30,000. It is rubbish and I will not be posting any of it. I don't reread it (I haven't time for that and it doesn't help anyway) I just think rubbish rubbi...

Re: Novel Writing Month
Day 17. Word count just over 19,7500 give or take a few. I'm way behind now, and running out of ideas. I have maybe another few thousand words left in me. Rightly or wrongly . . . . :? ?? does that make sense? Anyway, rightly or wrongly I've already written the ending, and everything will be headin...

Re: Novel Writing Month
Gosh, I am certainly side-tracking this thread, am I not? But I've no doubt one of the nano-writing ladies will stumble upon my request a few posts & a page back for the midpoint word-count, & get us back on the right road. This is, after all, a "writing thread," so in the meantime...

Re: Novel Writing Month
I woke up because I still a cat outside and it's turning cold tonight. In the meantime, two kitten types slipped out the door, so I'm still up for awhile. Thanks for the huge laugh at nearly 1 AM, Ydc. What a super passage! Damellon, Blonde Madonna, and Martine ~ I'm wondering if you're still up, t...

Re: Novel Writing Month
Chronologically, you are halfway through. How are the word-counts looking, ladies? If you are a tad behind, or even what you consider significantly behind, you've got a solid 15 days left, & I happen to believe that a motivated author (which always excluded myself) with a word processor can lay ...

Re: Novel Writing Month
HI there Ydc. The thought of you asking for the word count is forcing me to keep at it. Today, Day 10, I am still trailing at 14387 words but am happy with that many at this stage. May give you a glimpse Lizzy, later. Gosh, there's alot I'd like to type, including re the excerpt you posted; however...
