He missed "Bird on a Wire" and I'm not sure I remember hearing "Who By Fire".

Re: A Big Fuck You To Leonard Cohen and Ticketmaster

If you're only getting $452/mo in unemployment benefits what were you making before? I'd hazard a guess you couldn't afford this show even if you still had your job. Instant sell-outs prove these shows weren't overpriced (btw - it's still a free market economy). Where do I go to cry about not being ...

From the thread title I thought you might compare our ticket gripes to the struggles in Darfur.

I suppose you could start with the fact that there are no more record stores.

Re: The promoter is scamming us

The fan presale only worked because the password was announced at the time ticket went on sale, which gave all of us a few minutes to try our luck. Radiohead's fan presale is another good example, but their server tends to crash. This forum didn't and that's something to be appreciative about. Radi...

Re: The promoter is scamming us

Actually the most telling point is that the American Express presale was before the "fan club" or "friends and family" presale times. The chronology of the presale isn't neccessarily indicative of the seat quality. Each presale is assigned a subset of seats and the promoters wor...

Re: May 12-09 Show in Philadelphia

So, who is familiar enough with the Academy Of Music venue to talk about the view from the Parquet Box Seats? Particularly one of the four center boxes. Great view because you're elevated a bit above the Parquet (orchestra). For a ballet, an opera or the orchestra those might be the best seats in t...

All this is without the effects of the financial crisis, which Obama seems determined to exacerbate. Can we kindly stick to one conspiracy theory at a time? You found the "...which Obama seems determined to exacerbate" bit then. I hope it didn't spoil your enjoyment of the thread. I could...

Re: Tips on changing seats?

Likely your only hope is trying to find a solo person who might want to upgrade (assuming you can offer them a better seat).

Re: no available tickets!

getting tickets to big concerts is a case study in introductory economics. Getting Radiohead presale tickets is a case study in fanaticism. The presales are run on their own website out of the UK. They typically tell you the date of the pre-sale but not the time. Because it's hosted in the UK, the ...
