Re: Poetry Book dedicated to Leonard

Thanks all that's very kind of you to take the time to read. The poem was about the year 2001 when I first moved to London. The world was coming to terms with the rupture of 11/9 and trying to understand what it could mean. It felt like the end of an innocence of sorts. Ten New Songs was the first n...

Future Releases & Outtakes

Hi general question on the subject of any prospective future releases featuring outtakes / alternative takes forgotten gems etc. The likes of Bob Dylan and Neil Young have vast number of outtakes forgotten songs and albums which has led to wealth of official and unofficial releases that compliment t...

Re: Greece Poems

Very interesting thanks both. Does anyone know if there are plans to reissue some of these early books such as Flowers for Hitler? I just looked at a good quality resale version and it was going for £120!

Greece Poems

Does any one know which poetry books/ poems were completed during Leonard's time in Greece? I know there are a few in stranger music but wasn't sure if there is a whole book that was written there?

Poetry Book dedicated to Leonard

Hi all, I thought I would tell you about my new poetry book that's just been published called Afternoon Music. It's dedicated to Leonard and acknowledges the significant impact he's had on both my writing and personal life. It also contains the below poem about Leonard that I wrote on hearing his de...

Night Work

Dear friends, It's been a long time since I posted here but since I first started sharing my poems publicly on this forum I thought I would let you know I have a book of poetry and pictures now on kindle and in print- https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B07DL5GHM3/ref=mp_s_a_1_7?ie=UTF8&qid=1528486301&a...

Re: Leonard Has Passed Away

Dear friends, I'm very sad for us all. I've been a member for a long time but have not posted for awhile but need to express my sadness at Leonard's passing. It's with a strange feeling of loss, incomparable for someone I've never met. Thinking of Leonard's influence I go back to his own recollectio...

Re: New Album announced: 'You Want It Darker'

wow, i liked leonard's recent albums but this is something else. i've not been moved by an album in this way in some time. it's exquisite chamber music. there's a purity and a surprise to it and depth to the sound. it has moments of real beauty.

Re: New Album announced: 'You Want It Darker'

Amazing article. also amazing quotes from dylan, i'm not sure i've ever heard him speak so lucidly about another artist before it's quite an honour. im little disconcerted about the section where he balled out the interviewer for being late however- not sure what to think of it but for some reason i...

Missing Songs

I'm super excited about the new album... however a little sad not to see Feel So Good amongst the line up which for me is one of my favourite recent songs, it's filled with light and spirit and makes me want to wake up in the morning and rearrange my life. I note there are similarities between the m...

hmm the subject of selling out is a complicated one. we all interact in the corporate world daily in one way or another- where we work, where we shop, what we buy... it's very hard to get away completely unsullied. in saying that my instinctive reaction is to dislike this. i know cohen has 'worked' ...

Cinema Poem

We’d go to the cinema in the afternoons Then for coffee later. She’d studied film for four years And when discussing it afterward She sounded like a police mortician Diagnosing the cause of death, The more lavish and Hollywood the affair The more bloated the corpse, “Exposition, complication, climax...

Re: mccabe and mrs miller

thanks dean. i would love to hear this but i don't hold out for it being available. perhaps the record label don't think it's worthy of a full release. however now we have the technology i think Sony should investigate doing fan releases of live shows and out-takes as paid for downloads. i would lov...

mccabe and mrs miller

Hi all, I just watched mccabe and mrs miller- great film. Besides the three main songs they seem to be instrumental guitar tracks throughout the film which i didn't recognise. the guitar sounds very much like cohen of this period but i didn't recognise the melodies. does anyone know if cohen is resp...
