BTW your auto-correct changed "dear" to "dour" - you must watch out for these ...

I find perusing Leonard's online videos to be an exceptionally nice way to waste an hour every so often.

Hi 4,
I would challenge you on that statement.
IMHO it is not a waste of any time to watch LC videos.

Re: Leonard Cohen’s ten best lyrics

Hi Bev, Thank you for posting this. It is always interesting to read other people's thoughts on this topic. However, as we both know, that's all it is - just someone else's opinion. My own top ten would be different, as I'm sure so would the choices of many people on this forum. Even where there is ...

we talked about genesis, kangaroos, koala bears and australian movies. he said meryl streep's ' a cry in the dark ' was the best movie ever, and i said no, nicholoas hope's ' bad boy bubby ' beats that hands down. i took offence when he said anyone who likes that movie must be sick. it was the way ...

in any case, you will be happy to know that sarcasm is generally a tool for quick-thinking intelligent people, which is probably the reason why i cannot remember ever having used it myself ;) A quote I read some time back appears to be pertinent here: Tact is for those who don't have the wit for sa...

i presume you are aware of the oscar wilde line: We are all in the gutter, but some of us are looking at the stars. it is similar to the hawking quote. it comes from lady windermere's fan and there is a short dissertation on it here: https://www.quora.com/What-does-this-Oscar-Wilde-quote-actually-me...

Lovely to hear Leonard singing one of my favourite songs.
Pity about the dogs barking in the background.

Greetings, Geoffrey, I continue to enjoy your postings. The following arrived in my mailbox this morning and I thought it might amuse you: In the world of hi-tech gadgetry, I've noticed that more and more people who send text messages and e-mails have long forgotten the art of capital letters. I like "Blackadder". Did you ever see Rowan Atkinson in "Maigret"? It was a serious role, he played a French detective -- good series. Hi Folks, Just letting you know someone else is reading this, I didn't like Blackadder. Each to their own, I guess. I haven't seen Maigret, unless you consider the ...

Re: Leonard, Marianne, and Me: Magical Summers on Hydra (new book)

I saw a TV show a while ago where someone was complaining about the perfection of the teeth of many public figures.

His comment was along the lines of "my mouth is like a vandalized graveyard!"
I can empathize with that.

My dental appointment is 10:55 am tomorrow (17th June).
