Re: Ray Webster has passed away

I was very sad to hear this news, I will miss Ray a lot and it was always a pleasure to bump into him, whether it was a Cohen event or simply queuing to get into a Dylan concert... One of my first Cohen fan memories is travelling to Montreal with him and Lizzie (Madder). This photo reminds me of the...

Re: Just when I climbed this whole mountainside... (Wales 2009)

Somewhat late, partly because I've been busy since Snowdonia but mostly because I'm lazy, but here are my photos from the weekend (click each picture to go to the gallery of photos from that day). Thanks to Diane for organising it (I'm not being modest, I really did very little myself) and everyone ...

Re: Weybridge

hurray, just got tickets for this gig, despite having thought that the first O2 gig last year was going to be my last Cohen gig. Seems appropriate though for me to be going to a gig at Brooklands, the number of times I've been there for car events. Hope the weather is good on the day.

Re: DYLAN, Cohen, Nabokov, Neruda all in one evening

I'm really glad I managed to see this. Do go if they are in your area. I understand the tour has quite a few dates to run. It wasn't advertised well in Bristol ( I only knew of it because of this Forum) & was therefore very poorly attended. Highly recommended. I could have posted every word of ...

Re: DYLAN, Cohen, Nabokov, Neruda all in one evening

Hurray, they're playing at the Folkhouse in Bristol (my second-favourite venue in that city) on the 28th of March, and I have tickets! Can't wait, sounds like it will be a great evening.

Re: DYLAN, Cohen, Nabokov, Neruda all in one evening

Interesting! thanks for the positive review, Sarah, I see they're playing a few dates locally to me so hopefully one of them will suit me and I will get to see them too, particularly as I never quite found the time to see their Nick Drake set.

Ticket 'abuse' angers Springsteen

http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/entertainment/7872905.stm Text copied below. Who said artists couldn't have an influence over how their tickets are sold? Rock singer Bruce Springsteen has hit out at a company which encouraged US fans to buy tickets online for one of his concerts at inflated prices. The ...

Re: Threads with political contents to a new section

I also have a 'foes' list so i have to make a special effort just to read your posts. So don't worry, I won't be complaining about any of your other posts, reasonable or not. And if you think that was sucking up, you fail to appreciate the history of this forum, of the files, of Jarkko and myself an...

It's not a Cohen song, that's Chris Rea's 'Road to Hell'!

Re: GERRY ADAMS SAYS COME TO BELFAST LEONARD

Dear all, if this thread seems somewhat shorter than it used to, it is because I have weeded out some off-topic posts - but rather than delete them, I have moved them to a thread of their own in the 'Everything Else' part of the forum. Please could you all try to stay on-topic in this thread, and ke...

Re: Glastonbury (June 29)

Hmmm, interesting piece from Geoff Berner there, whoever he is, but somewhat unfair on the Glastonbury audience, who couldn't really be described as 'young and stupid', 'chavs', 'philistines', 'football hooligans', etc. At least none of my friends who go could be described as that, and I doubt anyon...
