Re: Leonard Has Passed Away
I am saddened beyond words to learn that Leonard has passed away even though I knew in my heart that he would be leaving us soon - too soon. He has been part of my life since since the night I sat on the hillside at the Isle of Wight listening to his golden voice echoing around the starry skies. Sle...

Re: OLD IDEAS WORLD TOUR: CONCERTS AND TICKET INFO
OF COURSE VICOMTE WAS JOKING - but its4inthemorning's message also contained a very important reminder of just how lucky we are that we have a new album and new tour, etc. There has been far too much moaning about the tour plans, particularly lack of UK dates and complaints about the UK date we do ...

Re: HOP FARM (UK), 8 SEPT ON GENERAL SALE
I will be going to the Hop Farm concert. Are there any nice hotels or B6Bs close to the venue? Will it maybe be easier to stay in London and travel to the venue by public transport on the day of the concert? I don't know how helpful the following will be but here goes: During The Hop Farm Festival,...

Re: HOP FARM (UK), 8 SEPT ON GENERAL SALE
I think Hopp farm is a very poor choice of venue for LC in the UK. I was at Weybridge when it rained heavily and the simple fact is it made the show far less enjoyable. Also the prices for Hopp farm are some 40% higher than Weybridge. Whats that all about? I think all concert prices have risen shar...

Re: 'FANS NEW TO FORUM'
Excellent find for both of you, stargazer and chaplainmom... thanks for sharing your histories with Leonard's music. Chaplainmom has already been there, but it would be great if you, too, would go and introduce yourself here, as well, stargazer: http://www.leonardcohenforum.com/viewtopic.php?f=5&am...

Re: 'FANS NEW TO FORUM'
Another new member but an old fan. I've been a passive fan since 1968 when my parents brought back 'The Songs Of Leonard Cohen' from a trip to New York. I saw him in concert in the 70's at Isle of Wight, Birmingham and Leicester, in the 80's at Albert Hall. In more recent times I was fortunate to b...

Re: HOP FARM (UK), 8 SEPT ON GENERAL SALE
Well, I, for one, am pleased and happy to be going to The Hop Farm to see LC. I don't understand why there is not the same displeasure over the Dublin concerts, as they too, are outdoor venues. Will take waterproofs and sunscreen, wellies and sunshades, a picnic and a spade to dig my car out of the ...

If you scroll down the page, find the thread 'Presale to Verona'....it should explain all. May be a bit of a long read but persevere!

Re: HOP FARM (UK), 8 SEPT ON GENERAL SALE
So agree, Lightasabreeze and Yorkshire Lad. The thought of a field, the potential traffic problems, the weather, queues for portaloos etc. etc. - and paying £95 for the privilege - maybe I'm just getting old, but it doesn't seem right. I could maybe understand if the tickets were cheaper (OK I know...

Thanks to all the 'newbies' who, having got tickets, came back to the forum to say 'Thank You'. Please come back again, if only to report back on the individual concert threads, to say what you thought of the concerts...........you will undoubtedly have a wonderful time!
