Re: Marianne & Leonard: Words of Love, film by Nick Broomfield
Has this not been given cinema release outside US and UK? I've tried to follow its progress on Box Office Mojo but information there is sketchy and out of date. I caught it in London and was enthralled but I suspect it was largely due to my commitment to Lenny's music. The problem with this as a lov...

Perla Batalla in London - 30 November 2019
I hope this hasn't been already posted but I can't seem to find it, if so please delete.
Perla Batalla will be at The Union Chapel in London for a House of Cohen concert starting at 19.00. I'll definitely be there.

It is recognisably Lenny and not a record to be ashamed of (
could any of his be???) BUT musically not a highlight of his career. Still digesting the lyrics and there's a lot of good stuff there. I'm with the opinion that to have changed the entire band has done no favours to this album. A hint of Javier Mas here, Sharon Robinson or the Webb Sisters there, wo...

Got my tickets, not very good ones, but this business is now
disgusting. The promoters, venues and touts (call them what they are and not their fancy respectable names) are operating as a cartel designed at depriving honest people of their money and illusions. Two tours ago we went for a hospitality package but this time it wasn't available except for compani...

Not impossible but looking at LC's body of work
if he has a specific political problem in mind it's far likelier he had the Middle East in mind.

Re: Old Ideas in comparison....
It is too soon to tell what Old Ideas place in the LC canon will be. Suffice to say the songs bear up well with earlier work and there is no sense of the creative juices being on a downward curve. Many other artists/groups seem to struggle to produce interesting new work after the age of 50 or so. N...

Re: Javier Mas Interview on Aragón Televisión 9/19/09
It hasn't. It is an interview prior to the Zaragoza concert, Javier was born there and is saying how special it would be for him. On more general matters he mentions how humble and respectful Leonard is towards everyone and the interviewer mentions the Acordes tribute concerts in Spain which were or...

Re: Leonard collapsed in Valencia - but is doing well again
We all hope Lenny will get well soon, he may not read these posts but somehow the love and affection behind them will get to him. Look after yourself friend and don't overdo things, we need you to give us many, many more years of happiness yet.

Re: CONCERT REPORT: Granada, September 13
The venue was a disaster. Atarfe is not Granada, it is a small commuter town with 12,000 people about six miles out from Granada. The tickets were very expensive and a real effort to purchase for many of the locals. I do not understand the reasoning why this venue was built, but it only seems to han...

Re: Martha Wainwright opening for Leonard Cohen
Martha Wainwright is a more interesting artist than her brother or dad in my humble opinion. Her dad is too "country£ for me and whilst Rufus can sing and does some interesting tracks he is more interested in his image than his craft. Martha's first album was one of the best albums by a female ...
