what prompted you to post this particular poem, you may get some more directed

This may be of little concern to you; yet, would you consider using "dastardly" or even "bastardly" man regarding your stepfather. With all of the attendant associations of "niggardly," that word jumps off the page and creates a feeling of discomfort for me.
