The last time I went to a show at the Spectrum, years ago, the main floor consisted of plywood laid on top of the ice rink for hockey games. Does anyone familiar with the arena know if this is still the case? Back then my feet froze because I hadn't anticipated the need for winter thermal footwear!

Question about the Spectrum in Philadelphia
Re: Question about the Spectrum in Philadelphia
It's not so bad now. I've been to a few shows during winter months in recent years and if anything, I was HOT!
Late October shouldn't be much of a problem

Re: Question about the Spectrum in Philadelphia
No worries about the ice rink, that'll be long gone by the time LC enters the building. In fact as of now there is only one more event (a set of Pearl Jam concerts) after the LC show. Then they will be closing the doors for good and bringing the building down. So there's no way they're going to still be keeping the ice when they're never going to use it again.

No hockey at Spectrum this year. Phantoms were sold last year. Flyers have played in the Wachovia Center for many years now. Poor Spectrum is coming down.
Re: Question about the Spectrum in Philadelphia
Yeah they're tearing the old place down. For anyone coming to Philly for Cohen that is staying an extra day or two, they are having a special show the next night billed as "The Last Call at the Spectrum". The concert will be Hall and Oates with special guests The Hooters and Todd Rundgren. The local radio station (WMGK.com) is saying tickets will be at 1970's prices at $2-$5 each. Wish I could have been able to go to it but unfortinuatly I have a previous engagement in New York at Madison Square Garden on that day

Re: Question about the Spectrum in Philadelphia
Does anyone know how high the stage is at the Spectrum? The ticket site has a note that says "Please note: Seating on the floor is not elevated." Would it actually be better to be a few rows back rather than in the first row?
Re: Question about the Spectrum in Philadelphia
the regular four feet or so. Like any other indoor arena. I am going to Hall and Oates the following night. I will really miss the Spectrum. Saw so many great shows there but Leonard will be near the top. As the Dead played a samson and Delilah encore there on their last visit this past Mayrmura wrote:Does anyone know how high the stage is at the Spectrum?
