Hi Karren,

Seems all your hard work some months ago on your cottage has paid off! It looks beautiful :D Just as I imagined it would be!
And such a fairy tale setting with a castle fit for a queen ;-)

I hope you finally managed to get some sleep.

btw.....excellent poem!

oh yes, that's exactly the way of it! I love it Karren.
I also love the humming song from M. Butterfly (my goldfishes name is Madam Butterfish - she's very pretty).

Hey, Karren ~ Hopefully slept and slept in this morning.

In our writing last night [for me], middle of the night [for you], I had forgotten you posted links and never listened. I'm realizing now that it must have seemed I was objecting to your Humming song and opting for other of Puccini's operas, instead. When I read Cate's comment, I thought, "yeah, that's right... I think she posted a link to it!" I've only just now listened, as well as to Tammy's... Puccini's is a wonderful musical interlude... a shame it wouldn't help you drift off. The pastoral and inspiring scenes that are part of the video are perfect for it. Seems it gets used for funerals a fair amount, too. Tammy's cover is great! The video is really well done and not so 'country' as most would be. Don't think I've ever heard her rendition before now. She really does make it her own. Loved the comments beneath it.

Anyway, full day, but was checking in to see if you finally drifted off in the glaring morning sun.

Hi Bev,

Yep it was certainly worth the effort. Not sure about fit for a queen? (Bit of a Princess but more of a Mistress).
Had a delivery the other day and the driver looked at the door, which is rather small (It is over 300 years old and people were smaller then) and said 'Where are the seven dwarfs'?

(house sitting for a friend for a couple of days so I am missing my cottage....rattling around in a big empty house...though I shouldn't complain)
Image

Gave up on trying to sleep around 6am and got up and decided to do a bit of gardening. Had 2 hours sleep since thursday  ...

Hey lizzy,

Puccini's music is all good so I won't hold it against you for prefering any of his other works!...
I have always loved Kris Kristoffersons version of help me make it through the night (well he did write it), but felt Tammy's version more appropriate.
Kris's Version.

Hi Cate,
It does rather get you like that doesn't it? Is a little sleep too much to ask for? I think the problem is I think to much and know too little!...
What a lovely name for a fish. It conjurs up an image of one of those fantailed goldfish you see...

Hoping for a better night tonight...

Thanks for all your comments and suggestions ;-)

Hi violet,

I think as far as sleep goes we are both in the same boat...neither of us get much of it!

Yes it is a terrible sacrifice looking after my friends place ;-) Don't forget the invitation still stands if you ever want to slum it with me...they have a wonderful wine collection, and this is the guy that helps me make THE 'Blackberry liquor'...
I do have to admit I miss my little cottage and I wouldn't swap it for this place in any circumstances!

As for the fairytale ending...well...I think we both know that there is no such thing as happy ever after...just, As happpy as you can be for as long as possible with the one you love! And God willing we will all get that one day... (Though I'm not sure where he stands on very badly behaved 40 somethings who refuse to grow up)!

Never know, I may even get some sleep tonight!

My sister loves the Blackberry liqueur...though she does refer to it as 'that paint stripper stuff'...
Hey maybe I should try that as a solution to my sleep problem....No.....I want to get to sleep not be unconsious!

You know you are always welcome here violet. hope you can keep up the pace...

Do you know I have been awake for 42 hours now and I don't even feel a bit tired....Maybe I should lay off the coke (the drinking sort not the snorting sort)!

Sleep well sweet violet

Just thought I’d let you know that I decided that whenever I can’t sleep I will just have to annoy all of you with my somewhat peculiar thoughts and feelings. And the odd you tube clip or two. And maybe even the odd bit of useful advice?

Talking of useful advice and mentioning no names…all of you who have one of those hi tech phones that talk to you and ask you who you want to contact….Beware! They may seem very helpful when you tell them who you want to text or call BUT, They can slip up sometimes (or maybe it’s just an accent thing)….If ever you want to send a very saucy message to your boyfriend and he's called DAN…make sure you speak very carefully…as Your DAD will not want to know what you are going to do to said boyfriend that night!!!!! (He really didn’t need to know that)!

Hoping I can sleep tonight, but just in case I’ll listen to a bit of Otis Redding

LOLOLOL... oh my G~d... that's just way too funny for words, at least to those of us not Dad.

Is this Otis song going to be Sittin' on the Dock of the Bay, by chance?

**************

Nope. Sure wasn't, but that's okay. Some seriously sexy video going on there to a song that I'm surprised I've never heard until now.
Thanks for the manifestation of your loneliness tonight, Karren :)

Hmmm... about 2:30 AM there by the way I'm figuring it. You REALLY NEED sleep, even though your including us in your insomnia is a great Plan B.

Finally got some sleep…managed a whole 4 hours!

Have been up since 6am and am just going to feed all the wildlife that expects their breakfast. Put some Chicken out for the Kite yesterday and he didn’t even wait for me to go in before he swooped down and got it. My friend who lives here calls him Kevin the kite. We started off with just the one, now we have seven come to be fed every day.

Image

Also put the apples out for the parakeets…

Image

What with the foxes, badgers, hedgehogs and ducks , It’s a bit like a wildlife park here! …

I will be back home at my little cottage later….In my own little bed (actually it’s not that little…it’s a big black leather one). On that note………
