Now the world is truly a darker place.

Leonard has always been and will always be a part of my life. Thank you for everything Mr Cohen. I feel incredibly blessed to have shared this world with you. You will always be in our hearts.

Several years ago a darkness descended upon me and I quickly found myself in a strange and distant place. I was lost, I was frightened--but, most of all, I was profoundly and unmistakably alone. My only company during those days was a book of poems I kept on the nightstand; a book of poems by Leonard Cohen.

I do not have anything close to the eloquence that would be required to adequately express how grateful I am to have encountered the work of Leonard Cohen, and to have experienced his thoughts as if they were my own. His words completely rearranged my internal world.

Thank you, Leonard. For your generosity of spirit and your grace; for refusing to pussyfoot around, nor turn a blind eye to the force of reality; for consistently confronting the most essential and unpleasant questions; and for writing about the human struggle, and the inevitable defeat that awaits us all, with dignity and beauty.

May your light never be extinguished.

Rest in Peace.

Sadness...
Thank you for all the beauty you offered us, for the grace.
Vous marcherez toujours dans mes rêves et serez toujours l'étoile la plus brillante aux ciels de mes pensées.
Deepest condoleances to Adam, to Lorca and your family.

I can't express how much pleasure he has given me...

...dance me...til we're gathered safely in...
dance me to the end of love...

and I'll keep dancing too

Just got back from gathering outside his home in Montreal with a couple hundred beautiful strangers. We lit a yahrzeit candle and said kadesh.

Thank you, Leonard. Farewell.

This is shocking, this is sad, this is unexpected. I was traveling today (Thursday) through Kentucky today listening to You want it darker over and over again not knowing that Leonard is no longer with us. He was repeating HINENI I'm ready my Lord many times. He was ready and it is definitely darker. There is no light at all. Au revoir Dear Leonard. Travel light.

Today we got the news we dreaded to hear...
Once our pain will ease a bit, we will realise how lucky we have been to be touched by his words and to have him in our lives
My thoughts go to Adam, Lorca, their children, his friends and loved ones and to all of us in the Cohenites world
RIP Mr Cohen - I hope your new world is now not so dark

This is the saddest day in my life to find out that Leonard has passed away. I want to give my deepest condolences to his Family and Friends.
What a gift he gave us with his last Album and we all can be so thankful for that, and how painful it was for him to record this.
Rest in peace dearest Leonard, you have given us so much with your music and poetry. I am so glad to have had the privilege to talk with you and to see you in Concert many times.
May you compose with the Angels in Heaven.
I will cherish all the memories forever.

F*ck. It was sort of expected but seemed too dismal to really assimilate. And when it really happens it is just devastating.

He was someone who history cannot resort to hyperbole. Because his spirit and talent having been so confusingly understated all these decades will only be able to skirt the reasons why those unfamiliar with this amazing man are now blessed with getting to unfold the treasure he was and wonder "why" he was not a household name. That is his precious gift. He comes into your life when needed, like a prophet. Death is not a reason to meet Leonard Cohen. His legacy of musical talent and spiritual, poetic brilliance is reason enough. If you are ready to hear, to really hear what he has to say and how he says it, death is of no consequence.

Love you Leonard. You saved me.

And LINDA, if you read this, my email is the same. I am living in the desert now-...

Love. Love. Love.

Going home
Without the sorrow
Going home
Sometime tomorrow
Going home
To where it’s better
Than before

Going home
Without the burden
Going home
Behind the curtain
Going home
Without this costume
That I wore

A MORE GRACIOUS CANADIAN NEVER LIVED……….THANK YOU LEONARD……..YOU WILL BE REMEMBERED!

Very sad news, our Man with the "Golden Voice" has passed away. He has left us, but not in spirit for his music, his poetry will live forever in our hearts.
My deepest condolences to Adam & Lorca,& all his family.
Thank you also Adam for helping your dad with his last Album, what a beautiful gift to the world!

Sad, sad, sad. Heartfelt condolences to Leonard's family from a fan.

At the moment, the voice of sadness is strong and will be respected. It will be heard. But in that mix of emotions we call grief, there are the quieter sounds of joy and gratitude. They will come through.

Leonard Cohen left so much and it will not die. The beauty in his words and music transcends the mortality of human life. The humility and grace of their performance remains with us.

Rest in peace, Leonard Cohen. Long live the work.
