I am saddened beyond words to learn that Leonard has passed away even though I knew in my heart that he would be leaving us soon - too soon. He has been part of my life since since the night I sat on the hillside at the Isle of Wight listening to his golden voice echoing around the starry skies. Sleep gently Mr Cohen and know that your music will remain in the hearts of so many in this world forever.

The deliverance has come at last to a good man who suffered so much and has given the world a marvelous gift.. Consummatum est. It is finished. His great work has been accomplished. He may now lay his burden down. His "golden voice" will be singing to us sweetly from the Tower of Song forever. As long as people have hearts and souls he will find fans and lovers. So Long, Leonard, man, it's time that we began to laugh and cry and laugh and cry about it all again.

I haven't been online today and was at this moment watching my local TV programme when across the screen has just been flashed this news!!! I thought it must have been a mistake and rushed here to see.

I'm crying and am in total shock and I can't speak!!!!......

EDIT: I've just realised that Leonard and my mother (exactly two years ago) both passed away on the same day!!!!

An important part of all our lives goes with him.
But an essential part remains.
He lived a great life and created great art.
I will always be thankful for all the gifts he gave me without ever even knowing me.
Goodbye Leonard.
Rest in peace.

I keep crying because of the loss. Leonard was such a large part of my life. His poetry inspired mine. His songs and poems kept me going during the challenging times of my life. When I was nervous last week, I listened to his new album and it calmed me down. His family can be proud of his contributions to the world. He put his heart and soul into everything he did; he opened himself up to help us heal. May his soul rest in peace. His spirit and his work will live forever.

I'm very sad that he has passed away.

But I'm very happy to have known his music and to have a collection of all his albums and be able to listen to them for as long as I live.

I'm also very proud of Leonard Cohen. He became a world renowned musician and poet and it has been said that he has put on some of the finest music concerts the world has ever known.

And who by fire, who by water
Who in the sunshine, who in the night time
Who by high ordeal, who by common trial
Who in your merry-merry month of may
Who by very slow decay
And who shall I say is calling?

And who in her lonely slip, who by barbiturate
Who in these realms of love, who by something blunt
Who by avalanche, who by powder
Who for his greed, who for his hunger
And who shall I say is calling?

And who by brave assent, who by accident
Who in solitude, who in this mirror
Who by his lady's command, who by his own hand
Who in mortal chains, who in power
And who shall I say is calling?

Thank you Mr. Cohen, for making the world a better place for all of us.

It must be a bitter time. We can be thankful for his son, Adam continuing Leonard's legacy.

Raise a tent of shelter then
though every thread is torn...

The sad news appeared on my newsfeed just now. Stunned.
Thought he'd go on another 20 years or so...

My condolences to Leonard's family.

So much gratitude to Leonard for bringing richness, beauty, comfort, truth, wisdom, humour, connections to others, and connection to something higher. Especially that. To have a wonderful songwriter remind me, show me, point me to higher truth has been invaluable. Privileges to have listened, seen, loved.

Well wishing to you, wherever you are.

One day I didn't get to meet you Leonard because I didn't know you were going to be at a gathering. Despite missing amusingly heavy repeated hints, I prioritised something that was worthwhile for the benefit of others instead.
I'm glad I'll be with that circle of people this evening to share however I'm feeling.

One day I'll sit on your bench on Hydra.
Thank you.
May All Blessings be yours.

What a cruel month this is. God has given us Donald Trump and has taken Leonard Cohen. Perhaps thats her way of keeping the universe in balance. Bless you Mr. Cohen, for always pointing us towards truth and beauty even when we may despair the most. Yours are the words, the music and the voice that now resonate most deeply.

My condolences to Leonard Cohens family and his legion of admirers. May his memory be a blessing to us all.
