Yes, I'm afraid it looks grim as well.
He's frail and ill. I do not believe he can hold up for an entire tour.
In any case, there are dreams

I'm very sorry to hear this...I had no idea. I was lucky enough to see Bowie through the Hunky Dory/Ziggy Stardust/Alladin Sane era, and then again for Station to Station.

He had a heart attack in 2004 but I have not heard about recent illness. He has done some cameos in movies lately and seems to stay busy with wife Iman in the NY charity/social scene. Here is a recent picture of them:

Gotta love a man who holds his lady's purse for her!
He's always "Bowie" and handsome to me...but he does look like a 64 year old man now, as he should. I don't think he has had plastic surgery, and I'm glad, though I guess he does dye his hair now. He was not doing so for a while and that may have added to the frail/ill rumors.
At any rate, I can see him staging a Leonard-style tour, when he's 73...or hopefully sooner! The Thin White OLD Duke.
After all, who really thought this guy would jump and skip around onstage for 3 years?

This has come absolutely out of the blue, on Bowie's 66th birthday:

A new album to be released in March!! And perhaps a tour after all, if we're lucky??
I'm literally jumping for joy! A world in which Leonard Cohen and David Bowie are both creating new music and performing? It's almost too much...

If Leonard has taught us anything, it is to never say never. Those crazy dreams can still come true ...

I heard his new song on cbc while having breakfast this morning. I was completely surprised and don't blame you for jumping!

It's the first album in 10 years and no one had a clue. It's amazing that no one leaked the info during production. I'm still in shock, as are many fans the world over. When I woke up this morning I wondered if I had dreamed it! (or that maybe it was the most elaborate hoax ever)

Tony Visconti (Bowie's producer) on the single, the album, and Bowie's health:
http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/entertainment-arts-20953094
Good news is that he describes Bowie as very healthy ... not so good news is that touring could be much more strenuous than the working pace for the album - done over 2 years with long breaks ... on-line betting has odds on a Bowie tour down to 2:1 ... I would take that bet ... but for now, shooting star, hang on to yourself ....
