Budapest Event 2018 Registration

Post by majmunka »

Hi Friends,

the Registration to the 11th Leonard Cohen Event is now open.
The official dates are August 3-5, 2018 but we might have some pre-Event programs on the 2nd of August so make your plan accordingly :)
Our venue has a strict limit of 190 participants so we recommend you to register early.
Our event is not commercial, so the participation fees are required to cover all the expenses associated with organizing an international event including the venues, bands, the hiring of technical and musical equipment, the souvenirs and so on.

Registration Process

1) Send email to: lcbudapest2018@gmail.com
Include your name(s), mobile phone number, country of residence, T-shirt size, male/female.
Indicate if you are paying by bank transfer or PayPal. Please note that we cannot accept cheques!
Example :
Name : Leonardo di Cohen
Mobile : +12 345678900
T-shirt size : S/M/L/XL/XXL Male/Female
country : Cohenland
paying method : Bank / Pay Pal
If you are a forum member, please add your Forum nickname.
It would also be nice to get a recent photo of you attached.
Let us know if you, for some reason, don't want to show your name on the online Event pages.

2) Pay the registration fee.

Registration fee: €180
After a few days you will receive a confirmation email when your e-mail and payment has been received.

How to pay the Registration Fee?
Payments can be made by direct bank transfer (SEPA transfer is the cheapest if your country is a SEPA member) or PayPal. Check this page to learn if you live in the SEPA area:
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Single_Euro_Payments_Area
Other payments cannot be accepted. Sorry, we can't accept cheques!
Credit card holders may pay through PayPal even if they don't have an account there (also remember to pay the fee!)

Bank account details for bank transfer payments:
PAYEE: Eva Martonyi (Address: Vasut sor 7 Dunavarsany, 2336 Hungary)
BANK: OTP Banka Slovensko (Bank address: Sturova 5, 813 54 Bratislava, Slovenska Republika)
BIC/SWIFT: OTPVSKBX
IBAN: SK63 5200 0000 0000 1765 4377

PayPal Payments: go to http://www.paypal.com and log in.
Recipient account: maeva@tvn.hu
Make sure The Event will receive the full amount! This means that you have to pay all the PayPal fees for both ends of the transaction, and add 8 eur per person to your payment. Instead of 180 eur, you have to pay 188 eur per person. This way the Event gets 180 eur!

Fill the amount in EUR (188 or 376 eur) to the box on the right “Recipient receives”. The box on the left shows how much you will be charged (in your currency).

No problem if you have no PayPal account or any balance on your existing account – you will be able to pay through their secure services by your credit card.
Cancellation policy :
- if cancelled before Jan 15, 75 % of the fee will be refunded (no refunds for the PayPal fees!)
- if cancelled before March 15 2018, 50 % of the fee will be refunded
- after March 15 2018 there will be no refunds
- the registrant has the right to transfer the registration to another person (and be able to get the whole fee refunded from them)
The names of the participants will be posted at
http://www.leonardcohenfiles.com/budapest2018.html

You can also find the information on our Facebook Even page:

If you have any questions, post them here or use this email address: lcbudapest2018@gmail.com

Looking forward to seeing many familiar and new faces in Budapest.
Eva

I sent an email some days ago to the listed address in the first post in this string (lcbudapest2018@gmail.com) to check if there are still places for the Budapest trip - before booking flights, etc. - but have not had a reply.

Can somebody please let me know the situation.

Thanks,

Brian

I can only advise you to practice the “P” for patience ;-) . I am sure you will get a reply, I sent an email about 2 weeks ago about confirmation of my “booking” for the event and just as I was planning the sent a reminder after a week or so I got a reply that everything was ok.

See you in Budapest!

Hi Brian,

I try to reply within a week or so but I can't find your mail. I've checked the inbox as well as the Spam folder.
Would you please try to re-send your mail again?
The registration is open, we have many places still, so go ahead :) Looking forward to meeting you in August.

Hi Eva,

Can you confirm that you are only acknowledging emails, and adding names to the attendee list, once you receive full payment? I registered several weeks ago with all details but haven't provided you with the payment yet. I presume that is why there has been no response so far? Seems fair, I guess. :)

Best of luck with the arrangements,

Regards,

Scott

Yes, I think it goes like this:
- you send the details to Eva by email
- and pay the fee
- when the payment is received, Eva confirms your registration and adds you to an excel database & Budapest FB page
- I check the database from time to time and update the same list at The Files, www.leonardcohenfiles.com/budapest2018.html

Right now we have 38 names. Please note that the the early bird discount ends on December 31!

Hi, Scott,

if there's a question in the emails, I try to reply and answer those questions. If I get registration details, than I'm waiting for the payment to come through and send the confirmation within a couple of days. I received your registration details in October and I added you to my "pending" list :D
Sorry about the confusion, I'm still waiting for your payment ;-)
Looking forward to seeing you in Budapest.

Eva
