Spirited "Who By Fire" led by Cantor Joseph Gole and Leonard Cohen Tribute producer, Craig Taubman

It started off with Cantor Gole solemnly chanting the Unetaneh Tokaf, the Rosh Hashanah and Yom Kippur prayer upon which "Who By Fire" is based.

Then at 2.35 Craig Taubman kicks in and the performance starts to rock with audience participation and a lot of play on "Who shall I say is calling".

Craig Taubman called on some of the other performers as backup singers, including...drum roll please...
Sharon Robinson and Perla Batalla singing together for the first time (4.19)

It was great fun.

Thank you so much Arlene for this thread - A wonderful presentation.

I have especially enjoyed the posts with Sharon and Perla including:

The first time together photos.
Individually singing Alexandra Leaving and Bird On The Wire. And now as you say another first time occasion together singing part of Who By Fire. I wish they had gone on a bit longer.

You know, it crosses my mind as I write this that it would be a such a treat if there was some way that ALL of Leonard's 'girls' could get together and produce an album of his songs. I suspect it would be a winner. Maybe one day......

Dear Arlene,
Let me 2nd Bev's gratitude for your posting these. It is so appreciated by all of us. After watching several of the youtubes from the tribute concert, I was drawn to the youtube of Leonard singing "The Partisan" at his last concert in Las Vegas which was almost exactly a year ago. It brought back such emotion and appreciation of the fact that we had so many concerts with him performing in a spectacular fashion. Your youtubes are precious and you have added so much to our community. Thank you.

Video with short clips of some of the other artists

screen shot - band instrumental intro - Hallelujah

I put together a video with short clips of some of the other performers. The video includes three excerpts from Hallelujah -the band instrumental intro and band playoff after the final act...which was...a very large combined school choir singing Hallelujah at the back of the ballroom.

The choir dramatically took the audience by surprise when they started singing because we were all facing the other way

Thank you to everyone for your kind words. Much appreciated.

@Joe While I was organizing a new tab on my LC Scrapbook to hold all the tribute video links, I became very nostalgic about one year ago today. So I watched my own Las Vegas videos both smiling and teary eyed. I know exactly what you mean.

Sharon Robinson Accompanied On Piano By Son Michael Gold, "Alexandra Leaving" http://youtu.be/C4wyVEh6Z2A

This is my favourite photo from the Leonard Cohen tribute concert in Los Angeles.

When I saw first the proofs that the official photographer kindly shared with me, I looked at this photo of Sharon and Michael and said to myself,

Sweet
