CONCERT REPORT: Prague, Czech Republic, July 21, 2013

Postby Hutla » Mon Jul 22, 2013 9:55 pm

I saw Master in Prague for the first time in my life and it was simply gorgeous event. Warm ambiance, beautiful music, great musicians and full O2 Arena of excited and fully satisfied fans. Me and my wife experienced one of the most beautiful concerts sitting in the 3rd row just in front of the stage, just watching unbelievable Master´s performance, his full dedication to the music, modest behaviour, respect to his musicians and his audiance and incredible energy.

I hope you don´t mind Master, that I took part of it along with me to my home :D

We wish you all the best and we are looking forward to meeting you in Prague again soon!!!

I visited both Berlin and Prague concerts last week. Both wonderful, the audience was much warmer in Prague, playlist was the same (may be one more song in Prague....full 3 hours on the stage!!!). It was my 3rd and 4th concert of Master (Lisbon 2008 and Prague 2009). After Prague 2009 concert local newspapers announced that "Mr. Leonard had reached musical heaven"..... he was not far from it yesterday. Fantastic Sharon, Seňor Javier and Alexandru...and all the others. Dino, I still miss you there.....Mr. Cohen, good luck, health and lots of energy. See you next year in our beautiful city.....in Prague.

It really was a treat! My fifth concert of Maestro Leonard, and I'd say he really is like a good wine - the older he is, the better he gets. The whole floor was standing during all encores - we simply couldn't thank him enough. Besides, the playlist and my wishlist would be pretty much the same this time :-) And Javier Mas's laud with Alexandru Bublitchi's violin just sounded SO RIGHT together! The only thing I didn't like so much was Sharon Robinson's rendition of "Alexandra Leaving" - too... bluesy? jazzy? - for my tastes, and besides, I perceive this song as a "man's song" - along the lines "well, you see, mate, nothing is forever, not even your perfect love, so don't be a coward and face it" (a woman would probably NOT say that). But other than that, it was a perfect evening, really, and I sincerelly hope that LC has got an elixir of life (he surely looks it ;-) ) and that I'll get to see him again. Thanks so much, Maestro!

I was not at the concert, but I have heard a few times now that in the encores, "First We Take Manhattan" and "Closing Time" were switched. Unfortunately, not the most reliable sources. (And I do not mean setlist.fm, although it is reported there as well). Can anyone who was there confirm or deny that? Thank you.
