I ended up coming after the dinner around 10pm and it was wonderful to see everyone and to meet some new people. We ambled over to the Chelsea Hotel around 11pm and although we thought we were going to the lobby only, the fellow who was giving the mini tour took us all up to the 5th floor. I rode the elevator with a Kris Kristofferson look alike (Joe Way)(well that's another story from Las Vegas in 2010). Actually my memory is a bit clouded as I also remember riding up with Mandy and this young couple who asked who we all were. They still live in the hotel and told us 60 residents still live there. It was eerie as it was dark and full of so much history and stories and was quite an adventure. We went into one apartment (renovations were going on so there were plastic curtains and we walked with flashlights) that had a few rooms and one had this magnificent red walls that apparently fashion photographers have used for a photo shoot. The staircase was amazing...looking up or looking down. I wish I could have seen it with all the paintings on the walls. The original 2 phone booths with some wooden painted mobile were still on the main floor outside the elevator. It was very cool to have been in there so late at night and I want to thank Dick & Linda for organizing all of this for us. I can't explain it but that one hour in the Chelsea Hotel late at night was perfect and made my first time to New York City an experience I won't forget. Oh if those walls could talk...

You thought that it could never happen …

You stumble into this movie house,
Then you climb, you climb into the frame.

Thank you, Jarrko and Eija, for the wonderful pictures. Not too long ago when I looked at event photos they were pictures of others. Now I am in them myself.

Ha. That's one wonderful posting, uncleerwinone.

So glad you were able to be there :D

It's quite different, too, isn't it!
You'll love the feelings of familiarity and affection you'll have when you see the various people again.

  • Eija and Jarkko: Thank you for capturing and sharing images most dear.
Dick, Linda, and Joe: The dinner was great and The Chelsea was amazing. Thanks so much for arranging.
Sylvie, Ali, and Brett: Your performances were truly wonderful. Now have different ways to think about the words and music. Thank you.
It was an honor to meet dear forum friends in person. When I was at the theater, it seemed that every time I turned around, I saw a friend.
Was a delightful warmup for the shows. Best word to describe two nights at Radio City: rapture. Looked it up in my thesaurus. All apply:
rapture, n. ecstasy, transport, bliss, joy, delight. See PLEASURE.

With warm affection,
Jackie
