Yes thankyou for the reports and the blog as a whole is excellent
Interested that you felt the performance of ' bird on the wire' on night 1, Montreal was the best you had heard - so did I. it was incredibly good and I remember finding it particularly moving .

And here's an audio recording of that performance ( though it in no way captures how good it was to hear, see, feel, be there on the night )

I also liked 'pottering around' the parc du portugal in the snow and seeing leonard's montreal home which was even more modest than i had imagined , and ,sadly, had a little graffiti on the front wall

Thanks friends and thanks for the link David which is excellent sound quality! Listening to it transported me back to that wonderful moment. I have to say though that I thought the song was just as good in the 2nd concert too and also Toronto but didn't want to keep repeating myself in the review but I was instantly struck by the new kind of magic at the first Montreal concert and I'm glad I'm not the only person who felt this. That graffiti has been on the wall of Leonard's house for a while as I've seen photos of it before. We did wonder why he doesn't remove it :?

Gwen,

These are absolutely the best photos. GORGEOUS, GORGEOUS, GORGEOUS!!! The ones of his hands are so unique. Thank you! Don't stop taking photos and posting links to them.

Warmest regards,
Mary

(P.S. The doggie video was soooo cute.)

Thank you Gwen,
for those absolutely excellent photos! I Iove the hands - reminds me of one I took of LC's hands from the front row in Australia a couple of years ago. It's one of my favourite subjects (to draw or as a photo) - hands say so much. Including all the band gives balance to the overall happenings in that particular concert. Well done!

Thanks Mary and Bev. I always try and get loads of photos of the band as well as Leonard though it was a challange in both Montreal and Toronto due seats at the sides. Excellent view of Leonard but not always of the band but at least in both places my seats were opposite sides each night. I love photos of hands too and it is only my latest camera which can do them justice and I like to try and vary the photos I take too. Hope to have more opportunities next year but if not I'll always be grateful for and cherish the memories from this year.

For those of you still following this thread you may be interested in reading an article I wrote that was based on the Leonard Cohen Concert experience and the interaction between Leonard and his fans in general and the two concerts in Montreal and one in Quebec City in particular.

I was writing about three concerts in Quebec last year as well as my observations at the many concerts I had attended over the last five years.

My article was reproduced in two (or was it three?) music publications and I was both appreciative and a little humbled by the favourable comments it received and
I have now belatedly had the opportunity to make the corrections that were pointed out to me as well as one or two small edits trying to improve on some laboured prose!

If you want to relive those memorable concerts and feelings you can find the article on my website here together with a small selection of the over 5000 images I have taken of Leonard et al in concert in recent years.

http://notesfromanomad.net/2012/12/13/1 ... ec-9-2012/

Like any writer I am always grateful to receive feedback and corrections either here or on my web site!

I apologise for the length but it appears it was well received and struck a chord with most Cohen aficionados.

Leonard Cohen-The Partisan-2012 Bell Center
Another little film I got (tried to) from Leonard Cohen's 2012 Bell Center show. It was so big there, and my sister and I were so far. He is a great Artist.
