Manchester 74

Having already seen Cohen at the Isle of Wight in 1970 (abiding memory is the reading of "A Person Who Eats Meat...."), and at King's Hall Belle Vue in Manchester ("No it wasn't any good, there's no reason why you should remember me..") my most vivid memory of those days is standing on my seat, singing and clapping along to "You Are My Sunshire" at Manchester (Free Trade Hall I think) in 1974.

Did he do the song regularly in 1974 or were we just blessed?

I saw Leonard in Brighton on that tour (a few weeks before I moved to Manchester), and again at the New Vic in London in '76. I well remember him doing You Are My Sunshine, with the same audience participation.

However, the set lists at http://www.leonardcohenfiles.com/74brighton.html and http://www.uqtr.ca/~bertrank/cohenlive/ ... -09-16.htm don't show You Are My Sunshine in Brighton, while some of the lists from the '76 tour do. The New Vic set list for '76 is incomplete, and there isn't one for Manchester, so it's not clear, but maybe you saw him then?

Those lists were compiled from memories and contribution by many fans, so you shall write to the webmaster and tell him your recollections on setlists and the shows.
However, most of the compiled lists came from Jim Devlin's book about LC's tours, and he surely was on all UK shows... But from your posts, it seems that the song was performed only in 1976 after all, but on more shows than JF (of I'm Your Live Man) and JD know.
