Wybe, many thanks for sharing your photos of your stay in Ireland. They have a special significance for me as my local pub Kavanagh`s of Roundwood features heavily in them. Also I hope you enjoyed your visit to Luggala ( the lake in the mountains ) which I consider to be one of the most beautiful places in Ireland. It is very noticeable you enjoyed some nice sunny weather while you were here. Of course the highlight had to be your visit to IMMA in Kilmainham to see Leonard. I was there on the friday night and what a night it was. Thanks again and I hope you will return to Ireland in the future.

Excellent photos as always Wybe.

I've updated my blog with photo highlights of all four concerts. First 2 I didn't get many good ones but bought a new camera, one worthy of taking photos of Leonard and co ;-)

Good on you, burningviolin - I'm sure the temptation must have been strong...

Just as well everyone doesn't have the "look-at- ME- Leonard" mentality of those who manage to trip over him by accident/on purpose at every opportunity and expect a private audience, ( as if they are in some way special compared to the rest of us! ) or the poor man would have no energy left for his brilliant stage performances.

He's probably too polite to tell them where to go...

Nice article on Leonard by Dave Fanning in the new RTE Guide, if anyone knows how to upload it! I don't, sorry.

Thanks for the tip JD. I'll go and get it now and upload later. Will check Hotpress too as even though Stuart Clark has a review on their website the editor Niall Stokes was there Friday/Saturday. I can't remember which now. Great meeting you last week!

Well, temptation wasn't really that strong, once I'd realised who it was (he had his back to us) it was too late to approach. Had it been a few moments earlier (and not so rainy and cold) and had Nifty and I had a chance to gather ourselves before he was heading in the door of the hotel, then I would have said hi and thanks. But that's twice I've seen him now and not managed to talk to him so third time hopefully will be the charm if he comes back around Europe way again! Timing is everything, especially for musicians ;-)

I'd imagine though that he enjoys meeting his fans, surely he would have plenty more minders and security around him if he didn't want to meet anyone and the delight and thanks that people express when they meet him must have some resonance with him. Though of course not every famous person is like that. A friend has a lovely picture taken (at a distance) of himself and a well known tv presenter. They look like they're smiling and chatting when actually the presenter is telling him to please go away!

Thanks for posting those Gwen. I prefer the Hotpress one. I thought Dave Fanning was a fan :?: The "loopy Len" comment makes me wonder.

I prefered Stuart Clark's one too and glad they left his mistake from the one posted online stating Leonard was on stage for just shy of 3 hours off the printed version! I wonder was it my comment on their FB page that it more like just shy of 4 hours with a 20 minute interval that fixed that! Dave Fanning's annoyed me when I saw that there was five concerts last week according to him and then the "loopy Len" Grrrrrrrrrrrrrrr.
