Halden, August 29, Meet-up

I've never been to a meet-up before, and I don't even know if anyone here is planning to go to the concert in Halden in August, but if anyone is, I would love to have a meet-up! I have school that day, but I'm sure we can figure something out. The concert is unseated and un-numbered (as I've understood it), so even just meeting up in front of the gates to maybe find a place to stand together, would be more than fine for me. I just think it would be lovely to be able to meet some of you. :)

Then again, I understand that Norway, and a relatively small city like Halden, might not be the most attractive place to watch a concert (if you are not from here), so if no one else is going, I guess it can't be helped. (Not to mention, the date might be terribly unconvenient, even for me it's a bit troublesome that it's on a week-day. I will not let that stop me from going, though, but it's easier for me, than for people from other parts of the world, and even Norway.)

My wife and I are going to the concert in Halden and we would really like to meet other Cohenfans before the event. It would be nice to share the exitement beforehand and discuss our great poet, composer, musician, singer, painter, philosopher and guiding star. Hope that there will be many people to meet in Halden.

Oh, that is wonderful to hear! As I already mentioned, I have school that day and probably won't be home before 4pm, so time will be a bit short for me (as the doors open at 8pm), but I would love to meet you outside and find a place to stand together for the concert, if you want to?

That being said, I hope more people will be coming, so you and your wife can meet other members beforehand. Unless I finish school earlier, a meet-up might be a bit difficult, after all.

I'm not very familiar with Halden, as I'm living in another town (though within the same county), but I will ask my sister who lives there at the moment, for good places to gather, maybe a dining place or something similar.

It would be very nice to meet you outside, but we would also like to gather at a restaurant some hours before the concert. We would appreciate to hear from other people who's got the same interest like us for a good meal and sharing some thoughts about our hero.

Of course, I understand. As I said, it might prove a little difficult for me to do that, but I hope other members will announce their attendance eventually, so you and your wife can have a nice meet-up and dinner.

As for possible restuarants to gather/eat at, I would recommend a place called Lill's Diner. I don't know the exact address, but that's easy to find if people want to go there. I don't know what kind of restaurants you and your wife would like to eat at, this might not be what you are looking for, but Lill's Diner is a retro dining place, in any case, inspired by the love of old car (the interior design, that is). It's really quite lovely, and they play old music (a la 50s/60s) in the background. You can order both small and bigger meals here, as well as drinks and desserts. I will find the address for you if this is something that sounds nice. Aside from this particular place, I have no clue what sort of dining/restaurant options there are in Halden, unfortunately.

- No, not when he's on tour.
- But it is not long since you ate dinner together?
- No, it's not. It was a rainy day on the Hydra for a couple of years ago. We'll be friends until death do us part, she says."

A local TV station has a clip from the art exhibition. A little interview with Roscoe too. Go to appr. 12:10

Thank you Anne, for posting so many informative and real time Norwegian media links on the Forum and on Facebook.
I have even managed to recognize a few key words without resorting to the creative google translate.
Too bad both concerts in Norway were standing and you couldn't go. I understand thoroughly.
But here's wishing you a magic time at the seated Helsinki concert with Jarkko, Eija and many other Cohenites.
