I hate this video of the Gypsys Wife song
It's part of Leonard's award-winning video I Am A Hotel. Thru five songs narrator / regular hotel visitor (played by Leonard) tells 5 intertwined stories from hotel rooms, each story explained thru song. I don't know who and why continues with cutting songs from the movie (which is about 25 mins long) and put them on YouTube.

I agree with what you seem to be suggesting, Tom... the individual treatment of the five songs flows much better within their original context than when excerpts are isolated as though standing on their own. The Gypsy's Wife one, for me, seems to represent very well the group dynamic of men at a convention [i.e. in a hotel] in relationship to the woman, with whom they have no personal relationship... and their greed is palpable. So, too, is the woman's pleasure in her escaping to the prurient desire of other men and from the 'husband' wherever he is presumed to be... certainly not one of the men at the table.
