Nathan Cohen

Postby francis on Tue Nov 26, 2013 10:05 am

Dear all,

Does anybody know the exact date of the death of Leonard Cohen's father, Nathan Cohen?
In the biographies, I only found that it was "January 1944" and that the day of his funeral was also the birthday of Cohen's sister, Esther.

Thanks!

Francis

I don't have any citation for the date, but IIRC, Esther Cohen's birthday is January 14, and Jewish law mandates burial within 24 hours when possible. So that narrows it down somewhat.
