A new album from this tour ??

Post by GraceC »

I wonder if a new album will result from this tour, as in "Live In London" from 2008 tour. Anyone know?

Pretty sure bet I would imagine.
I guess it all started for me sometime around Christmas 1967 and now, goodness me, it's.........2018 and over fifty years later.
No one ever listens to me. I might as well be a Leonard Cohen record.

A certainty, I would say. I hope they manage to capture the cartwheel, this time!

There were two cameras filming on 9th Sept at the Wembley Arena, they must have been filming for a reason.

Yes, to project the show on to the big screens either side of the stage!

Seriously though, they record all the shows and film most of them (though not Paris or other small venues) so there is plenty of material available in the archives. I'd like to think that they'll put out a whole show from the tour as they did with Live in London rather than edited highlights c.f. Songs from the Road. I guess time will tell.

Wendy,

As much as I appreciate Live in London, I would prefer a Songs from the Road II. As Ed Sanders said, " The best version is the one you heard live" (words to that effect). Yet, here was someone (Ed) who had been at every concert and really did put forth the best version of these songs. So, to expand on the original by giving us more songs from the tour, this is my humble preference.

Kindest regards,
Mary

I guess it's a case of "each to his own" Mary. I've never really watched Songs From the Road (though it was playing in the background at our lunch in Barcelona), for the same reason as I never watch YouTube clips. Disembodied songs out of context do nothing for me, even if the clip comes from a show I attended. Give me a whole concert over the best version of each song every time - it's the live experience I want and I'll happily settle for audio if no complete show DVD is forthcoming.
