Help - photos of LC from the Yom Kippur war

I'm a long time fan, looking for online photos of Leonard from the Yom Kippur war (73).


looked for a while but couldn't find anything.

What intense and great photos. Imagine what Leonard's going to Israel must mean to him. Any idea who the blonde woman is? Can't help but wonder. Wonderful WONDERFUL photos of Leonard!

Maarten, this is unbelievable - so far, no photo of LC in Sinai in 1973 was ever found or publicly shown!

Some scans of yesterday's issue of the Israeli newspaper "yediot Acharnot" (May 28), sent by Andy Jones (probably taken from eBay)
It has a story about Leonard in the 1973 war. The last picture is the cover of the newspaper!

Members in Isreael: I would very much like to have a hard copy of this newspaper. Will send you some LC item in trade (or cover your costs), please PM or email me.

This is really a great find.

The man standing next to LC in the top photo, holding a guitar, is the great Israeli musician Matti Caspi, who accompanied LC during the war. You can read about him in Wikipedia, where LC is also mentioned:

I’m not 100% sure, but I believe that the women standing next to them in that photo is Israeli singer Ilana Rovina, who was also on the same team of entertainers during the war.

Uri Dan, who is credited with taking the photos, was a well known Israeli journalist (he died in 2006), who was very close to Ariel Sharon.

Just after filing my above post, I saw your post about the article in the Israeli newspaper. Since I’m in Japan, it might take a while for me to get that newspaper (it is not on the Internet), but I’ll do my best to get it and translate the article for the Files (if somebody else wouldn’t do it earlier).
