The venue was cold but the show was hot as ever. I'm still so excited, I couldn't sleep properly. this was the first time I attempted to make videos but I forgot to set my camera into night mode :( Still I can't wait seeing if I managed to take something watchable but as for Gwen, today is a long travel day first to Krakow then to Budapest by the night train so I have to wait until Wednesday.

The members' gathering was small but the best I ever attended. I enjoyed it as much as I enjoyed the concert. I love you, guys :) Thanks for the hot chocolate, Kaz. It will be nice to meet some of you in Katowice, I wish you all could be there.

Thank you very much for revealing Joey's secret, ladydi. :D

And it's great to read that everybody had a great time in Katowice.

No end of love for Leonard Cohen in Poland

05.10.2010 10:45
Seventy six year-old Canadian singer and poet Leonard Cohen played greatest hits from a catalogue going back five decades in Katowice last night.

Dressed in a dark suit and hat, Cohen opened with Dance Me To The End of Love and followed with Everybody Knows, Waiting For The Miracle, Suzanne, Hallelujah and I’m your Man.

The singer also paid tribute to Janis Joplin on the 40th anniversary of her death.

For fans who missed last night’s concert, Cohen will be performing in Warsaw on Sunday. The gigs were originally scheduled for March but had to be postponed due to the singer’s back problems.

His homeland apart, Poland is a country where Cohen enjoys an enormous popularity, dating back to the 1980s and the excellent Polish versions of his greatest hits translated by Maciej Zembaty and Maciej Karpinski.

He made three visits to Poland - in 1985, 2007 and 2008. In 2007 he made a brief appearance in a Polish Radio Studio during a concert promoting a CD by Anjani Thomas and started by reading out his favourite poem by Czeslaw Milosz in an English translation.

Cohen was born in 1934 of Jewish parents of Lithuanian origin. (mk/pg)
...but I heard that the band & the crew found the venue freezing, let's hope they didn't catch cold. Now they are off to Russia- could be even colder.

Just back in UK today after fantastic concert in Katowice. 3 new songs were performed expertly. The Polish hospitality was great, well played Hotel Angelo where many Cohen fans stayed. The Spodek is immense ( alcohol free !), and in need of some investment, but that aside, i was so pleased to see the affection that the Poles have for Leonard. Every song loudly applauded, standing ovations, and a rush for the stage at the end ( you know who you are :D ). Even up in the 'gods' the sound was clear !
Even Ryanair was punctual, + extra leg room :D :D :D
Back to work tomorrow :(

I love the new lyrics he's putting in Avalanche, "I never knew how much I wanted you" the rest of that lyric is hard to decipher, "Lover in the ?" any takers as to what he's saying?

I think he says: "I never knew how much I wanted you / Oh love beyond belief"
