Video interview with Roscoe Beck (supporting Role: Fred!)

Postby Florian » Thu Sep 02, 2010 6:25 pm

Hi,
just found this on Ytube:
Few minutes interview with Roscoe and his bass tech. Mostley equiptment-talk, most of intresset for bass players.
At the end of the video he speaks a little about the tour in general and about the fans of Leonard!

Florian: What a great catch! Thank you so much for posting this wonderful youtube video. It was a delight listening to Roscoe and Chris, not only talking about the technical aspects of the instruments and accessories, but also how things are run on stage during a concert. And their comments about LC's fans were just wonderful.

Florian, thank you so very much for bringing this to us!! What a delight to listen to Roscoe and Chris talk about the equipment, the way things work on the stage, the tour, and Leonard's fans!!

As soon as I get home today, if someone hasn't already done so, I'll be loading it on Roscoe's Facebook fan page!

Made my day! :D

Diana

edit: Arlene...this is too funny, I must have missed your post and just realized I almost made the identical comments! Great minds think alike! :D

It was indeed a delight to watch this. I'm always struck by how EVERYONE involved in this tour is such a lovely person - always willing to talk and share. And I do have a special soft spot for Roscoe after meeting him in Nashville last year!

Thank you Florian!

MaryB.....you need to watch this! Besides Roscoe and Chris, we have another slightly smaller "person" in the background towards the end of the video!!! I completely missed him (er, paying a little more attention to the "other" men); however, burningviolin zeroed in on the little guy just hangin' around stage right! lol...that warm and fuzzy feeling again :D

Thanks Florian! Fred is like another crew member...he just isn't able to express himself as well as Roscoe and Chris! :D

Thanks for posting Florian - it was interesting to hear about some of the production details, especially how the bass can't actually be heard on stage - how quiet the stage is.

Diana,
Had no time to comment when I watched it the first time. Now, because of your attention to detail which gave us another Fred sighting, I went back and watched again. Like you, I'm thinking 'how did I miss that the first time?'. There he is, hanging around, not getting anything accomplished. He needs a good talking to! How is Afric involved in this?

Florian,
This reminded me of the video Dino did of Javier. These behind the scenes videos add so much insight into the working of the equipment and musicians themselves and enhance the whole concert experience. Thank you for bringing this link to us.

Warmest regards,
Mary
