Well Gwen you gave me a right laugh! When I saw the above I thought "What is she talking about, what did I miss?" Took a while for this old......ish brain to realise what you were talking about.
You'll be happy to know the LC concerts made the top ten "cultural events" of 2010 in the Irish Times, and also one of the top highlights in the Sunday Independent yesterday. And as you said, no mention of the "unmentionable act"!!

Rightly so! Just waiting for the Meteor Awards now where I'm sure Leonard will be named best international live act for the third year running ;-) Have to wait until March for confirmation of that though ;-)

Now that the Meteor awards have been scrapped, is there any other way of honouring the best concert of the year? Anyone any ideas?

I like your thinking. I'll put my thinking cap on. Just a slight correction though, THE BEST CONCERT OF ALL TIME ;-)

Gwen,
I'm with you on this one. While the first half of the second concert in LV was the most explosive, fun, and perfection itself, for overall best of all time, it has to be Sligo!
Warmest regards,
Mary

And choirmaster Leonard led the 10,000 strong choir in this amazing rendition of So Long Marianne.

Wasn't that moment wonderful! It still brings goosebumps whenever I hear it! If Ireland ever happens again, I will NEVER miss the opportunity to be there! I think all the fairies appeared to bless that evening! Magical.

Interesting documentary called "The Walsh-Cassidys in Lissadell House" on RTE radio this weekend. Available on www.rte.ie . Look for RTE Radio 1, Documentary Hour. Well worth listening to, especially for those who have a simplistic / black and white view of this sad and complex story.

Does anyone know if this whole thread can be downloaded as a unit so that we can have it to look back on in later years? If yes maybe you could let me know how to go about it.
Many thanks.

Easiest way if not the most sophisticated technologically is to take one page at a time, scroll from top to bottom or vice versa whilst holding down the left button on the mouse, at the end, press Control and C which copies it to memory, then go to Word (or similar) and press Control and V which will copy it into Word. Quite possibly more sophisticated ways but this will work if you really want to archive this. (After page 1 repeat for all of the others)

Thanks davidrichards. I knew how to do it that way but I was wondering if there is an easier way to get the whole thread as one file and then copy and paste. If not I will have to do it the hard way, I suppose.

The "choir" (audience) gets a standing ovation at the end of Closing Time
