Beautiful picture kovals!

Editing - I love the title of the video "Leonard Cohen is israel."

But the video includes the beginning of "If It Be Your Will" - the part where Leonard speaks. And - with all those people - total silence - like you could hear a pin drop!

Simply unique - and rightfully so.
I thought the title started with a typo and ended in a huge symbol.

How amazing to hear people whisper or even sing with him, as in a prayer going beyond this world, into eternity ...
Wonderful Leonard, wonderful concert, wonderful audience!

Clarification: LC ended the concert giving the Blessings of the Priests (birkatt cohanim) in Hebrew. Nothing can top this!
Forgive a goy's translation but I believe this is:

May the Lord bless you and protect you
May the Lord make His face shine upon you and be gracious to you
May the Lord show you His favor and give you His peace

I wonder if the crowd responded "Yes ,may it be His will" ......
....all men will be sailors then....

Well, this was a memorable night indeed! Not only because of Leonard, which is a great occasion in its own right, but also because he managed to gather almost 50,000 people in one place to sing with him. Never have I felt more Israeli and more a part of humanity as I have this evening. The welcome he received, it was enormous. Thousands of green candles during and after songs, and people singing and clapping incessantly. During "Take This Waltz" Leonard thanked the audience for clapping, as we were clapping together with the waltz rhythm. I had been only to one show previous to this in Paris in July, but saw countless bits on Youtube, and I have never witnessed such enthusiastic and whole-hearted reactions to the lyrics and music of almost every song.

Israelis are emotional folk, and it was surely felt tonight. The people were embracing the Master and his amazing band. One could feel the unity of the people in the celebration of this unique man, who came to sing for us despite everything. And he created this one-of-a-kind unity. "Hallelujah" was one of the super highlights of the concert, as the whole stadium was singing "hallelujah" and Leonard thanked us for that. Certainly,this song resonates with us stronger than any other. And of course a standing ovation after it and many other songs even before the encores. Although I brought my camera with me, I almost haven't filmed, as I was totally in it with my heart and mind. I am very fortunate to have seen Leonard Cohen twice in my life, and privileged to have seen him tonight in Tel-Aviv.

Note that this blessing is not unique to Judaism, but is also a very common Bidding Prayer (i.e. exiting prayer) in Christian services, in the form:

The Lord bless you and keep you;
The Lord make His face to shine upon you,
And be gracious unto you;
The Lord lift up His countenance upon you,
And give you peace.

It is from Numbers 6:24-26.

Absolutely one of the best concerts of Cohen I’ve attended.

A total triumph – 48,000 people have attended, cheered, sang along and were blessed at the end by Leonard Cohen with the Blessing of the Cohanim, in Hebrew.

What a night! Morre to tell, but that’s for later. :)

Meahwhile...

Incredible concert tonight in Tel Aviv. Hopefully a small step toward peace. Now for a little break before we tour the States!
