HI

Yes - agree with everyone - the concerts are just getting better and better (and this was my seventh) - but maybe I'm getting better seats each time; Liverpool on the sides, Sunday in the centre but in the tiered section; last night the closest I have ever been (row 7). I just couldn't believe how beautiful the whole thing felt. I was walking on air as I strolled back to Ballsbridge. As my friend said after Tower of Song, Suzanne and Sisters of Mercy it was "like coming out for the second half and scoring a hat-trick" and for the first encore with So Long Marianne and First We Take Manhattan he'd scored another two in extra time! Famous Blue Raincoat - I'd just gone to heaven!

As soon as I was back in the hotel I booked another ticket for Wednesday night to prolong the ecstasy. After that I have only Venice (row 6). Then what will I do - except be bankrupt.

Cheers all. Ciarán

Was at the Sunday night concert in front row. I wasn’t expecting it to be as good as Kilmainham but wow! the show was even better. Agree with other posters on the video screen but this didn’t bother me because I had a great view. I enjoyed it so much that I contemplated getting tickets for Thursday but the seats available aren’t great. My night was made when Leonard did Famous Blue Raincoat :D . Many thanks to Jarkko for providing the link for the presale tickets.
I heard that Leonard is doing a midnight concert in Dublin this week .... anyone know anything about this? Probably a wind-up.

Mixture of his own songs and covers of Joe's songs. 700 tickets only.

Yes, this is really wonderful - but it seems as if Leonard does have something of a cold! Not that I think that it affects the recitation in any negative way, but I find it remarkable how deep his voice sounds in this specific recording as compared to similar ones ...

Ah, no, Lonndubh, an old fashioned queue round Parnell Square with hawkers selling J and L scarves.

Wow Marie! The best so long Marianne of the tour :) Was this video shot on the sunday or the monday.... I hope it was the sunday as i was singing the song at that one :)
I love Alberts video clips the best. He is very talented and does not seem to get distracted by Leonard or the band and has a steady hand. Well done indeed.

Hi all,

What can I say that hasn't already been said? The concert last night was incredible. Leonard was in great form although he
did seem to show signs of that cold in the first half, but still a brilliant performance. However, the second half totally blew
me away. He arrived back on stage with a bang. He was throwing energy out to the crowed like he had buckets of it to spare!
And the crowed were throwing it back just as effectively. His version of Partisan was the best I've ever heard, and he dominated
Famous Blue Raincoat, and belted it out as if the passion that drove him to pen the song in the first place came back and exploded
from him. Incredible, incredible stuff!

That video sync problem was still evident, although it did not seem as bad as was reported on Sunday. I was looking closely and
it seemed to effect only the camera that was at front front and center of stage. The shots from this angle/camera were slightly out of sync.
I had a good seat so it did not affect me, and I don't believe it would have influenced anyone else's experience.

Great, great night altogether, and thanks to Ollie, Ollie's father and Burning Violin for the great company. Maybe next time Burning Violin, you
will do a better job of keeping me from spending so much money on tour merchandise!!!

P.S. After the show I headed up to Jury's and they were playing the DVD of one of his concerts (London I think). They also had a 'special' late menu on offer
for the weary Cohenites:

Birdonawire,

I love the special menu! Although personally, I am not sure if "Pizza slice with chips" would become a personal favourite of mine... :?

I agree. And at over 5 euro for a very small bowl of very overcooked potato wedges, I was happy to stick to just having a pint or two (or three!).
A cheese sandwich when I got home was enough to fill the gap.
