Perhaps Leonard should sing "Norwegian Wood" in the UK to compliment "So Long Marianne"?!

As I recall, Lennon lived in Weybridge with Cynthia in the Sixties.

John Lennon indeed lived in St George's Hill, Weybridge (my hometown) for much of the late 60s and 70s.

As I recall, three of the Beatles were living there when I was growing up in the 70s (can't remember which one wasn't).

St George's Hill has a fascinating history, it was the first place in the country where radical peasants (the Diggers and the Levellers) tried growing their own food, only to be driven off by rich landowners, back in the 17th Century. That it had by the late 20th Century become the richest and most exclusive area of housing in the country is grimly ironic.

There endeth the history lesson.

Hello Golo99
I don't think Paul ever lived there, he bought a house in St John's Wood quite early on and I believe he was based there when in London. I suspect he still does actually keep that house, wasn't he photographed outside it with Heather when they were engaged? It is quite close to Abbey Road studios.

has cliff moved - the link says it features his FORMER mansion?

http://virtualglobetrotting.com/map/50253/

wikipedia implies cliff has moved from one mansion to another

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/St_George%27s_Hill

even if i had lots of money i don't think i'd pick that estate for my luxurious abode.
